Today is Flag Day in the United States. To commemorate that day, the two Democratic leaders of Congress, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, proudly waved their flags…their white flags of surrender. In a letter to President Bush they gushed with optimism for our troops:
“As many had forseen, the escalation has failed to produce the intended results,” the two leaders wrote. “The increase in US forces has had little impact in curbing the violence or fostering political reconciliation. “It has not enhanced America’s national security. The unsettling reality is that instances of violence against Iraqis remain high and attacks on US forces have increased.” (Breitbart.com)
In an effort to raise his white flag of surrender even higher, Senator Reid went on to say, “that Senate Democrats would attach troop withdrawal deadlines to a Defense Department Authorization bill, due to be debated within weeks.” Since waving the Democratic defeatist flag wasn’t enough, Reid took liberty at humiliating our armed forces when he referred to Gen. Peter Pace, the outgoing chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as “incompetent.” (See: Political.com)
Congratulations Democrats, you are officially the party of defeat and destruction. How proud you must be of your white flag leaders.
