When it comes to Web 2.0 technologies, initially, it doesn’t look as positive for Conservatives. Consider the piece by the Washington Post:![]()
If conservatives have mastered talk radio — with Limbaugh as the undisputed king of the AM dial — those on the left hope to achieve the same dominance on the Internet. Daily Kos, a sounding board for opposition to Bush and the Iraq war, among other topics, leads most political blogs in Web traffic and notoriety.
There’s no doubt liberals have a running start on internet technologies but don’t count Conservatives out just yet. With sites like InstaPundit, RedState, Little Green Footballs, and Michelle Malkin‘s (to name a few) the Conservative Web 2.0 push is just getting started. Selling Conservatives short would be a huge mistake. Not only do we have ability and desire, we have the capital (financial and human) to create a bigger and better presence than liberals. I like how Wilma Rudolph puts it:
Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.
