Hint: Comedy Central is Not News

comedy central I’ve got news for you about Comedy Central “news” shows like The Colbert Report and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.  It is NOT news.  They are COMEDY shows. 

A poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press found that 21 percent of TV watchers age 18 to 29 cited “The Daily Show”  as a place where they REGULARLY get their news–especially political news.

Let me enlighten some of those 21 percenters–Comedy Central is NOT news.  It’s a place for jokes…like ha, ha…very funny.  The fact that these people are getting their news from comedy shows indicates one of two things: a) this group of people are just plain dumb; or b) this group of people are just plain laughable.  I’m debating if it is (a) or (b) but leaning towards (b) because they have become the joke.

Those that get their news from Comedy Central discredit themselves.  Looking to comedians for news is like…well…looking to comedians for news.  What’s next?  Shall we have the Cartman Report, Mind of Mencia Evening News, or the Reno 911 News Hour?  I think not.
