Despite all their anti-war talk, non-binding resolutions, and senate sleep overs, the ugly truth is the Democrats don’t want to end the war. If they did, they could do it instantly.
Congress holds the power of the purse. All the Democrats need to do is STOP FUNDING the war. It is so simple a 2-year old could figure it out. But Democrats won’t stop the war because their only strategy is an investment in defeat. Here are 10 reason Democrats won’t stop the war:
- They score more political points for 2008 if the war continues.
- The war enables them to continue their hatred of Bush.
- They are talkers, not doers.
- They have no plan for dealing with the Iraqi genocide afterwards.
- Their only strategy to “win” is cut-and-run and that will become apparent to the American people if they surrender.
- They govern by polls and the polls do not support such a move right now.
- They have been able to appease their liberal base.
- In their hearts they know Bush is right about al Qaeda.
- They will look like failures to most Americans (except the kook fringe liberal base).
- They have NO backbone to ACTUALLY do anything.
