FHK SitRep 07.24.07: Creating Link Lists, the Easy Way

Links are a good way to network with other bloggers, as well as add great content to your site. Including links to other bloggers’ sites can also indirectly improve your search engine rankings over time, as some bloggers have set their blogs to allow pingbacks, and some will reciprocate by linking to your blog later down the road.
Some bloggers choose a very straightforward method of presenting their link lists, such as bamapachyderm at MyVastRightWingConspiracy. Others get more creative with the names for their link lists, like The Thunder Run’s Web Reconnaissance.
Incorporating a daily or weekly link list into your blog is one convenient way to organize those links, rather than posting them haphazardly throughout the day. Other sites get creative with theirs, such as The Thunder Run’s Web Reconnaissance. You can create these manually, or you can do it the easy way use a widget provided with your social bookmarking sites. (Bamapachyderm clued us in to this when we first started – Thank you, Beth!) Digg has one, and FHK uses del.icio.us. Jackson’s West has instructions for how to do this in del.icio.us.
These widgets update your blog post with everything you’ve saved since your last blog post, and can be set up to run as often as you like. They are a fast, easy, convenient way to increase the number of links in your blog.
