Cutting Edge Conference Conservatism

Conservatives and Republican could be far more cutting edge in their technology when it comes to conferences. Web 2.0 enables political activism on a grand and interactive scale. Consider some of the options available:
Wiffiti
With Wiffiti, you can “txt out load.” As Wiffiti describes it:
Wiffiti screens are hung in public places, and plotted on the world map. Wiffiti players are embedded on web pages all over the internet. Your txt message becomes a public statement, and that’s why we say “txt out loud!”.
Imagine a Republican or conservative convention where the world can text message the audience or candidates on the big screen. It can also be displayed on smaller LCD screens. Take a look at their sampling around the world.
Streaming
Streaming is not new to the web but it could be used more strategically with GOP and conservative conventions. For example, web viewers would be able to watch the conference or gathering in real or asynchronous time. There are a multitude of video streaming organizations including RealNetworks, UStream, SHOUTcast, YouTube, Imeem, and the list goes on.
Streaming enables a variety of abilities including video streaming, webcasting, video conferencing, video-on-demand, and more.
Second Life
According to their website, “Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its Residents.” Second Life would enable GOP / conservatives to stream video of keynotes and conference sessions in real time and submit questions to speakers to Q & A. It simulates being at a gathering. You can also have exhibit halls, meeting areas, and hospitality suites for you to virtually sit down with the friends made.
There’s More
There’s more than can be listed here. Some examples might be on-site polling, downloadable mp3’s of speakers, pre- and post discussion boards, on-site virtual bulletin boards, Bluetooth and wireless technologies, and more.
With a little imagination, future GOP and conservative conferences could be the talk of the web.
