Why Are Dems Attacking Gen. Petraeus’s Iraq Report Already?

General Petraeus’s Iraq report doesn’t come out for another month but the buzz in D.C. is it will be mostly positive.  Democrats are already attacking the report with out seeing it.  They are so invested in defeat that need that report to be as bad as possible.  Unfortunately for the Dems, the truth is getting in the way.

Consider The Hill’s commets about Rep. Nancy Pelosi:

Led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Democrats say they fear that Bush?s handpicked commander in Iraq will paint an unreasonably rosy picture of the progress on the ground. 

?I?m very concerned that they will kick the can further down the road or talk about a few anecdotal successes that they?ll try to pass off as the situation in Iraq,? Pelosi told a group of journalists recently.

Or consider the words from the Faquier-Times Democrat:

A high-ranking House liberal recently said that a good report from Gen. David Petraeus next month would be “a real big problem for us.” A spokesman for Speaker Nancy Pelosi, meanwhile, said that congressional Democrats were “not willing to concede there are positive things [in Iraq] to point to.”

Why is it we never here positive things from the Democrats or a desire for America to be victorious?  How sad the once great Democratic party has sunk that they must now bet on defeat and negativism.
