A few days ago, TechCrunch40 held it’s 2007 Conference, where, according to their promo, Forty of the hottest new startups from around the world announced and demo’d their products over a two day period. A $50K award was at stake, and was awarded to Mint, and online money-managment tool.

The event was covered very thoroughy here by ars technica . Online voters prefered MetaPlace (designed to bring the 3-D virtual world to your favorite social networking applications like Facebook, and MySpace, app2you (an application creator for web developers), and flock, a social web browser tool.
