High School Students Come Up With Alternative Pledge of Allegiance

Students at Boulder High School are protesting having to say the Pledge of Allegiance and have come up with an alternative pledge. The Student Worker club at the high school are asking their peers to leave class every Thursday at 8:30 a.m. — that is when the pledge is recited over the intercom.

In addition, these students have come up with an alternative Pledge of Allegiance because they deem the original “religious oppression.”

I pledge allegiance to the flag and my constitutional rights with which it comes. And to the diversity, in which our nation stands, one nation, part of one planet, with liberty, freedom, choice and justice for all.

The students have three complaints about the Pledge of Allegiance: 1) it takes away from school time; 2) it is ignored or disrespected anyhow; and 3) the phrase “one nation, under God” violates the separation of church and state.

If you have ever been to Boulder, CO it is a beautiful place but it is also one of the most liberal places in Colorado. It is referred to by Coloradoans as the “Republic of Boulder.” Remember Ward Churchill? Boulder, CO. This is more of the same from the children of liberals. Obviously, they don’t care if they disrespect our flag or this country.
