Just when you think you heard it all, a Malaysian Islamic cleric said of smokers, “People who do not want to think are like animals.” Islam discourages but does not deter the believers from smoking. Of course, there are consequences to disobeying Islam. Interestingly, smokers are treated similarly in some liberal states like California and New York.
