This November 5th, Ron Paul is seeking the largest one day political donation event in history. The goal of his supporters is to get 100,000 people to donate $100 each which would, in turn, earn an record $10,000,000. Is it realistic?

George W. Bush holds the one-day record of $5.3 million dollars in one day when he raise that amount back in 2003. During that day, he had less then 2,000 major donors who contributed. This would nearly double that amount with an additional 998,000 donors.

The Ron Paul supporters on Digg.com covering this topic appear to be gung ho for this new event:

Let’s put MORE money where our mouths are! ajpalmieri

PAY NOW OR PAY LATER! argounova

I’ve already donated and plan on donating more. shadash

[I'm] donating $200.00 on top of the $100.00 I already donated. People need to know what hope looks like before we lose it forever. Nitroadict

I’m not as convinced as those on Digg but I’ll keep an open mind to see if Ron Paul actually makes this goal. It would be quite an achievement if he did.
