Betting Odds on Democrats

It is time once again for Democrats to fund the Iraq war.  Their record to stop George W. Bush from getting the troop funding has been zero previously.  We can not expect any Democrat to develop a spine anytime soon so look for another implosion by them.  With that said, we can make this cave-in a little more sporty by offering betting odds on various Democratic actions. 

First, a little explanation of betting odds.  Take the odds 1/2: That means for every $2 you bet expect to win $1.  So here are the bets and odds.

1/1:  Ted Kennedy will say something stupid

The odds are quite good Ted Kennedy will take to the microphone, likely drunk, and say something to embarrass himself and the Democratic party.  It is nearly a forgone conclusion this will happen. Bet $1, win $1 on this possibility.

1/50:  Pelosi and Reid will blame Bush

Even more likely will be Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid spewing their negative diatribe of incessant negativity toward the Bush administration.  At no point will they take responsibility for their own failure as they head down the road to caving before G.W. himself.  Look for lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth but watch them hand over the wallet by Christmas. Bet $50, win $1 on this possibility.

1/100: Show me the money

Democrats will whine, moan, blame, complain, and denigrate but they will show Bush the money.  They will not get a timeline or any other concession despite their pretentious and silly bravado.  Ultimately, they will vote to continue funding the war and then slink back into their little holes to lick their wounds.  Bet $100, win $1 on this possibility.
