Prevent Government Mind Control…Take LSD! (aka: Liberals are so Cute II)

Ventured over Digg.com again today – I was looking for something specific, but got distracted with this, in the Top Ten in all Categories list, with nearly 800 Diggs, and over 300 comments: The Reason LSD Is Illegal… Loss Of Public Mind Control

Deseperately needing a good laugh, I couldn’t resist the urge to click on the article, Mind Control Drugs, Addiction and LSD, complete with charts. Here’s an excerpt:

LSD is the antithesis of mind control; the CIA discovered this fact and has done everything to keep it top-secret. The government is terrified of LSD becoming available to the masses. People just might think independently, and ignore the government’s propaganda. The last thing the government wants is the people unbinding themselves from their shackles and taking control of their own lives.

It’s not so funny that this author wrote the piece (everyone’s entitled to an opinion, after all), or that the submitter shared it with his/her Digg friends (Perhaps the submitter found this as amusing as I do…?), but I do find it hillarious that this story was so popular that it has so far received hundreds of Diggs, and not even (as of the time of publishing) been marked as “possibly inaccurate.” I mean, if nothing else, the author of the piece listed marijuana as an “addictive” substance – that, alone, is usually enough to get an article buried on Digg, or at least flagged as “possibly inaccurate.” But who knows why Diggers Digg? Perhaps they never made it past the title of the post.

When I wrote that drug post I actually did a lot of fact checking. I received a ton of posts about MJ and I am going to put up a post detailing the extent of marijuana being an addictive substance. (It appears the pro-marijuana group is either being lied to or just don’t have their facts straight).
For the record marijuana is an addictive substance, it can cause both physical and psychological dependence, and users experience both tolerance and withdrawal from prolonged usage. There is a very thorough body of evidence backed by many peer reviewed studies stating these positions.
