Time’s Person of the Year (Not a joke – Unfortunately)

Posted December 19th, 2007 by Jenn Sierra

putin.jpgTime Magazine has chosen it’s person of the year, and it’s Vladimir Putin, of Russia. Time explains why, in Choosing Order Before Freedom (also not a joke – unfortunately).

Runners up were Al Gore, J.K. Rowling, Hu Jintao, and David Patraeus. The International Herald Tribune notes, “Putin is the fifth Russian or Soviet leader to be named Person of the Year: Gorbachev, Andropov, Khrushchev and Stalin, who was named twice.” (Still not joking – unfortunately.)

Here is a photo mosaic of Time’s Men/Women/Persons of the Year for 80 years.
