Around Thanksgiving, Mashable announced it’s new troll competition…as a follow-up to “Troll Week,” which we wrote about here.

Mashable announced November 18th:

This week’s Thanksgiving celebrations start the countdown to that sickeningly over-commercialized “non-denominational winter holiday” formerly known as Christmas. Frankly, that makes us grumpy. So grumpy that we feel the need to insult someone. You, preferably.

After your abject failure to thoroughly grill us during Troll Week, you’re getting a second chance. “Deck The Trolls”, a festive contest in which you’re rewarded for witty and amusingly insulting comments on Mashable posts, starts today and ends whenever we feel like it.

Today, Mashable announced:

Our “Deck the Trolls” competition, which rewarded you for insulting comments, is officially over. You were pretty terrible at it. Troll licenses are being revoked as we speak.

That said, we do need to give away the $100 prize (choice of Amazon giftcard/iTunes Giftcard/cash) to someone – and that someone is…(more)

Mashable’s contest is mostly for techie-trolls. I’d still love to find a sponsor for a political-troll contest. (hint? hint?)

Speak Your Mind

This comment section is for the readers of Ft. Hard Knox, a place for political conservatives to share information about online activism. We are not "fair and balanced," and we aren't refereeing a "free speech zone." Intelligent, funny, and on-topic comments are welcome. Trolls, spam, and liberal propaganda are not. We may occassionally approve a comment with an obvious lefty-slant so that we can amuse ourselves by making fun of it, but most will be deleted. (Why? Because we're busy, we have lives, and when we want to talk to you we'll go visit you on Digg or the Daily KOS.)

This is a private blog, and we reserve the right to make up our own rules as we go along. The few comments which manage to squeak by our censors reflect the opinion of the commentator, and not necessarily the staff of Ft. Hard Knox.

Hint: One sure-fire way to get your comment sent directly to the "spam" folder is to call us "racists" for disagreeing with a policy of the current POTUS or speaking out against terrorism.

Your photo will display with your comment if you use gravatars.
