On Wikipedia:

“When You Believe” is a song originally composed by Stephen Schwartz, and later refurbished by writer-producer Babyface, as the theme to the film The Prince of Egypt. It was the main theme of the film and was released as a single by American singers Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston as the soundtrack’s first single in 1998 (see 1998 in music); it was also the first single from Houston’s album My Love Is Your Love and the second from Carey’s compilation album #1’s. A cover version of “When You Believe” was the début single by the winner of the fourth series of The X Factor, Leon Jackson, and the British Christmas Number One of 2007…(more)

When You Believe Lyrics:

Many nights we’ve prayed
With no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts a hopeful song
We barely understood
Now we are not afraid
Although we know there’s much to fear
We were moving mountains
Long before we knew we could

[Chorus]
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail
It’s hard to kill
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe

Easy to despair
When all you hear is fear and lies
Easy just to run and hide
To frightened to begin
But if we dare to dare
Don’t wait for answers from the skies
Each of us can look inside
And hear this song within

[Chorus]
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail
It’s hard to kill
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe

They don’t always happen when you ask
And it’s easy to give in to your fears
But when you’re blinded by your faith
Can’t see your way clear through the rain
A small but still resilient voice
Says hope is very near
Ohhh

hhh(There can be miracles)
hhh(When you believe)
Though hope is frail (Though hope is frail)
It’s hard to kill (It’s hard to kill)
Who knows what miracles (Who knows what miracles)
You can achieve (You can achieve)
When you believe, somehow you will (When you believe, somehow you will)
(Now you will) Now you will
You will when you believe (You will when you believe)
You will when you believe
