The 3 Legs of the Conservative Party

If you can not tell by now, if you have ever been on my blog Stix Blog, you can tell that I am a Fred Head. I think that he is the only candidate that brings all 3 legs of the conservative movement together. If you ask a lot of the Republican rank and file primary voters, they will say Fred is their second choice, because he does not have as many marls against him as the other candidates.
But that is not really the reason I am writing this post. The reason I am, is that after all the hoopla and circus atmosphere after the Primaries are over, we are going to have a candidate. And really at this moment we have no clue who that is, even if the MSM tells us it is McCain, Romney or any of the candidates. We still have a long way to go until we see who really is the front runner.
We have not gotten to Super Duper Tuesday, and really haven’t getten to the conservative states that make up much of the Republican base. So, we are all throwing mud over at all of the other candidates that we don;t think should be the Republican nominee.
Some are so passionate that they are ending friendships on the blogosphere:
Nuke: “We’ve known each other for some time now, and frankly I just can’t understand your support for the huckster. He’s a RINO who, if nominated, will totally destroy the Republican party. Populism is not conservatism, and this is the candidate you expect to unite the party and face the DemocRats in November???!!!”
This is not the way we should be going about this Primary Circus. Remember, the Republican Party is the Party of Ideas, not Emotion, that is for our friends on the other side of the aisle.
When the circus is over and the Republicans have a nominee, we in the conservative movement need to get behind him. Be it Fred, Romney, McCain, Guiliani and even Huckabee. I leave out Ron Paul because he has no chance with the conservatives. So when the dust settles, we might not all get what we want, but look at it like this, “would you rather have the glass half full or empty”. Would we as conservatives let the Socialist in the Democratic Party take control. Look how good that did us in 2006, we have Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as the Speaker of the House and the Head of the Senate. And just think of what they can do with a Defeatocrat as President.
So let us all throw the bombs and mud at each other during the primaries, but come together and keep the Defeatocrats from leaving Iraq as a factory for the terrorists, raise our taxes and take more of our freedoms away. The Primary circus is the way to steer the Party in the direction that the base wants it to, and if it is not is the exact way you want, do not sit on your hands and let it get into the hands of the Democrats.
