More Real facts about Physics

Here are some more real world physics for “truthers.”
Let’s say you have a penny that was made after 1982, which has a mass of 2.5 grams or 0.0025 kilograms (Source). Yes, I know pennies made before 1982 have a different mass; I’m just sticking to post-1982 pennies to simplify matters. If you drop that penny on your foot, it wont hurt. Read more
Defeat John Murtha!
February 28, 2008 by Jenn Sierra
The Republican challenger to John “The Marines killed innocent civilians in cold blood” Murtha is William Russell, and his name had conveniently been tossed off the ballot in his Pennsylvania district, the Johnstown, PA Tribune Democrat reports, because it was determined he only had 993 “valid” signatures on his petition, seven short of the 1,000 required. Without him on the ballot, Murtha will have no challengers, and he doesn’t have the funds for a legal battle to fight the petition decision.
He can still run as the Republican nominee if at least 1,000 people write him in, and he has the most votes of any write-ins, so it is imperative that Republican voters in Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District (map) go to the polls and write in Bill Russell, if they want to see Murtha defeated.
Pamela, of Atlas Shrugs has all the details, here. William Russell’s campain site is here, and if you would like to donate to his campaign via Slatecard, go here.

…from Tony Perkins, of the Family Research Council:
Racism Alive and Well at Planned Parenthood
A shocking set of recordings was released this week that could prove disastrous for Planned Parenthood’s ties with the African-American community. Lila Rose, a pro-life student and reporter at UCLA, launched an undercover investigation aimed at exposing the racism of the nation’s largest abortion merchant. With the help of an actor, she contacted Planned Parenthood clinics in seven states, inquiring if they would be willing to accept a donation earmarked for the abortion of black babies. The results were jaw-dropping. Read more
Mixxin’ up Facebook

Mixx is being touted as the alternative to Digg. Of course there are literally millions (give or take) of new social networking sites wanting to be the next Digg, but Mixx is actually pretty good. It’s user-friendly, and thus far seems to have avoided the whole “bury brigade” fiasco. Also, Mixx has taken steps to interact with other social networking programs…very Web 2.0!
Now, from the Mixx Blog:
Now you don’t have to leave Facebook to submit, comment on and share content from around the web, and you can share with your Facebook and your Mixx Friends at the same time. And by setting your Facebook Interests you’ll get the stuff you want delivered right to your profile page. Read more

McCain VP Pick (Updated with Video)

- Could Palin be VP? (Update: Yes)
I have certainly been a vociferous critic of John McCain. I don’t like the man, I don’t trust him and I think he is bad for both the Republican Party and the country as a whole. But the fact is, he’s going to be the GOP nominee, that much is certain. The real question is, can he beat Obama in November.
From my perspective, choosing between McCain and Obama is like choosing between a firing squad and hanging. I’d prefer not to have to make that choice. As it stands now, I don’t think McCain can beat Obama and the cult of personality. Obama just has so much charisma and McCain is just crotchety. The only possible salvation for a McCain candidacy might be his VP pick.
