Could John McCain’s Health Issues Hurt His Election Chances?

172x120_mccaine John McCain has been treated for recurrent skin cancer, including melanoma, in 1993, 2000, and 2002.  The melanoma he had was life threatening.  Could this be an issue in the 2008 election?  The truth is, John McCain has health issues.  According to WebMD:

In 1993, McCain had a cancerous mole removed from his shoulder. The mole was diagnosed as melanoma, the most serious form of skin cancer. He had a recurrence of skin cancer in 2000 and surgery to remove two melanoma lesions, one from his left temple and the other from his left arm.
He was a POW in a Vietnamese prison camp for more than five years and still suffers from multiple injuries as a result of the experience, including a broken right knee that is now arthritic.
McCain had a procedure to treat an enlarged prostate in 2001.
He smoked until age 45.

Could these health issues impact his chances with the American population?  People are looking for someone healthy.  If he goes against Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, his health issues could become political fodder.

    If his health does not disqualify him, his out of control temper and womanizing should.

    that doesn’t even mention the fact that he will be over 70 when sworn in if he becomes president, the oldest ever.

    Ron Paul is consertive, still running for the presidency, republican, knows the issues of today, and as a bonus is very healthy. We still have a great option to for president.
