Defensive Conservatives

Why is it, that conservatives are so defensive? Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong about defending your position. My point is, why aren’t conservatives more offensive? When liberals try to get same sex marriage acts pushed through, we rise to the occasion. The problem is, they’re just going to try again when we let our guard down. Why aren’t our political activists pushing to get a marriage definition pushed through that defines marriage in no uncertain terms as a bond between one man and one woman?

When our politicians try to force amnesty bills giving people that have entered our country illegally the same rights as immigrants that have followed the legal processes, we get very defensive. Why isn’t American English the official language of these United States? Why aren’t our activists getting offensive on this issue?

Our taxes are complete crap. Our government spends our money on all types of fleecing issues, yet we do little or nothing to hold them accountable. It seems the only thing conservatives are conserving is the same old status quo. Liberals have formed mistakes in the past, and we conserve them. We need to change what the status quo is,

How do we do this? I sure don’t know the answer, but I wish we could banter about some suggestions. We call ourselves conservatives. We all know what we want to conserve. The problem is, most of the things we wish to conserve are almost out of existence.

The teachers in our schools are teaching our children that multiculturalism should be accepted. They’re showing them by example that christian beliefs should be kept to ourselves. They’re teaching them that sex as a teenager is okay, and they should just use condoms. Diversity is the buzzword of the day, but it teaches nothing about the culture of America. We’re attacked from every angle, yet we don’t attack in return. We just defend.

We have laws that tell us that certain thoughts merit harsher sentences. How do they know what a criminal was thinking when he has committed a crime? Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not defending criminals, but “hate crime” laws are just thought police. That is not anything our courts should be exacting from anyone in America. Killing children before they’re born because the parent thinks the child would be inconvenient to their lifestyle is accepted, even promoted. This is not anything resembling what this great nation was founded on.

We need to go on the offense. It’s the fourth quarter, and were down by twenty.

Blame that on Political Correctness. I do.

A true conservative should be supporting the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. True conservatives should make a stink when great shows like the 1/2 Hour News Hour is cancelled and replaced with JerrrrAldo!
True conservatives should never feel the need to apologise …

See my topic of Americans Are Lazy if you want to know what is wrong with today’s Americans. ;o)

I’ve got to agree with DannoJYD.

Boo, hoo, hoo… poor conservatives. Unchecked power for years and what do conservatives do? Run up a huge deficit and reside over the worst breach of national security in American history. Roe vs. Wade overturned? NOOO! Why not? Because conservatives don’t really care about abortion, they just pretend to be concerned about this issue in order to manipulate pro-life voters into voting for them. Boo hoo hoo. You thought that conservatives really cared? All they care about is their own money and power. You have no-one to blame but yourselves for letting this happen. Conservatives held absolute power for years and look what happened? Terrorism, rampant illegal immigration, HUGE deficit, unnecessary war, TONS of abortions. You can try to blame it all on Clinton, immigrants, Muslims and anyone else but you all know the truth. You did this to yourselves and, by the way, thank you for ruining it for the rest of us and our leaving the HUGE bill for MY children. Shame on you!

HAHA the more I read this, the funnier it becomes… “Why isn’t American English the official language of these United States?” What is the official language? Romanian? German? Hebrew? If you’re so concerned about American English, then why are there so many misspellings and grammatical errors throughout your blog? Is this blog a joke?

Although I’m sure that a large number of Americans are indeed lazy, it doesn’t address the question. What can be done by those of us that are not lazy to motivate them? Where can WE do a better job of taking the offense? Supporting radio and blog personalities is all well and good, but does no more than liberals supporting celebrity actors and actresses that bad-mouth our country. It doesn’t get the “lazy Americans” off their collective butts to show support for the important bills going through our House and Senate.

Ken. Did your parents have any children that lived?

I really take issue with this description of conservatives when what you are really talking about is Republicans. For the most part, elected Republicans on the national level are anything but conservative. There area few notable exceptions, like Arizona Congressman Jeff Flakes, who was passed over for a position on the House appropriations committee in favor of Alabama’s Congressman Joe Bonner (see http://www.ronsmusings.com/2008/02/19/gop-still-doesnt-get-it/). Clearly the GOP leadership in the House isn’t interested in conservatism and that is why they will lose even more seats in November when they should be making great gains.

What “description”? Did you read what was written? I meant to discuss the lack of offense as opposed to defence. Perhaps I didn’t make myself clear. I’m well aware the Republicans and Conservatives are very seldom the same.

Ken, there is no official language in the U.S…but if you’d visited any of the southwestern U.S. lately, you’d think the official language was Spanish.

As for the spelling errors, I’ll tell you the same thing I told the last self-proclaimed grammar troll. We’re looking for a proofreader - would you like to volunteer? We’re all volunteers, here, so we wouldn’t be able to pay you. And, of course, you’d have to get a new attitude.
