Mainstream Misreporting, a Bit of Irony, and Some Real Numbers

Tex is a little under the weather this week, but he has sent in links to these three articles that he would like everyone to read. Very useful info here:

What the Pentagon Report Missed

In this report, Richard Miniter, Pajamas Media’s Washington correspondent, debunks the mainstream media’s coverage of the Pentagon report, which was supposedly “an exhaustive review of more than 600,000 Iraqi documents” which found “no evidence” linking Saddam Hussein with Al-Qaeda. Not true, says, Minter, and here’s why.

(Hint: It wasn’t an exhaustive report, it proves that Saddam worked with jihadis, it never claims there is “no link,” and it does not include open sources like meetings, personnel, money and training provided by Saddam’s regime to Al Qaida)

(NewsBusters) Study: Networks Always Label GOPers With Sex Scandals

…An examination of the fifteen ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening news shows through Wednesday night finds Spitzer was called a Democrat just 20% of the time — twice on CBS, once on ABC, and never on NBC.

So how do the networks treat Republicans involved in sex scandals? Always, always as Republicans…(more)

(The irony? It’s almost as if they think there’s something “wrong” with adultry and homosexuality?!)

CRS Report for Congress – American War and Military Operations Casualties: Lists and Statistics

This report is written in response to numerous requests for war casualty statistics and lists of war dead. It provides tables, compiled by sources at the Department of Defense (DOD), indicating the number of casualties among American military personnel serving in principal wars and combat actions.

Wars covered include the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam Conflict, and the Persian Gulf War. Military operations covered include the Iranian Hostage Rescue Mission, Lebanon Peacekeeping, Urgent Fury in Grenada, Just Cause in Panama, Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Restore Hope in Somalia, Uphold Democracy in Haiti, and the ongoing Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)…(more)

Be sure to check out Table 5 where you will see that the Armed Services had 4302 deaths in the first four years of Bill Clinton’s Presidency. Being in the Military is dangerous and the anti-war protesters and mainstream media seem to be grieving over the fact that after five years in Iraq we have lost just over 4000 valiant soldiers. Our Military Leaders should be proud, our soldiers prouder and we as a nation should honor our military not demoralize them by claiming their work a failure. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are both guilty of malfeasance as is Jack Murtha.
