Random Thoughts

Rather than writing an article on just one subject I felt the need to voice a few of my random thoughts.

Headlines from the Arab Press: Al-Qabas (Kuwait): Zawahiri: Al-Qaida will fight Israel after victory in Iraq

Al-Qaida’s second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri said in response to questions on an Islamic Web site that Osama bin Laden was in good health and said rumors saying otherwise were lies. He condemned the United Nations and vowed to “attack the Jews inside and outside Israel” after achieving “victory in Iraq.”

(NOTE: For those not familiar with world geography, the United States of America is outside Israel. Al-Zawahiri is threatening the USA. So do we want to “cut and run” and insure Al-Qaida’s victory in Iraq so they can attack us here?)

In McCain, Obama tangle over al-Qaida, Obama said in Tyler, TX:

But I have some news for John McCain. There was no such thing as al-Qaida in Iraq until George Bush and John McCain decided to invade Iraq. … They took their eye off the people who were responsible for 9/11 and that would be al-Qaida in Afghanistan, that is stronger now than at any time since 2001.

Wikipedia:

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi (October 30, 1966 – June 7, 2006), born Ahmad Fadeel al-Nazal al-Khalayleh was a Jordanian militant Islamist who ran a militant training camp in Afghanistan. He became known after going to Iraq and being accused by United States and Jordanian officials for a series of bombings, beheadings and attacks during the Iraq War. He was believed to have formed al-Tawhid wal-Jihad, which later became the group called Al-Qaeda in Iraq, in the 1990s, and led it until his death in June 2006.

(NOTE: This means Al-Qaida was in Iraq, prior to 2003. It was just operating under a different name. In February 1998, al-Qaeda issued a statement under banner of “The World Islamic Front for Jihad Against the Jews and Crusaders” saying it was the duty of all Muslims to kill US citizens—civilian or military—and their allies everywhere. Al-Qaeda would merge with Egyptian Islamic Jihad (Al-Jihad) of Ayman al-Zawahiri in June 2001. In Arabic Al-Qaida means “base”. The organization is not a single group but many groups with different names, cooperating in their mutual goal to: establish the rule of God [Allah] on earth; Attaining martyrdom in the cause of God (Allah) and; Purification of the ranks of Islam from the elements of depravity. For an allegedly intelligent person, Obama seems to make up facts almost as much as Hillary. )

After reading the mainstream media and seeing how they have castigated not only President Bush but also this country, I am still amazed at how easy it is for them to mislead the public. I realize that there will always be misguided liberals but I fail to understand why the conservatives and the libertarians put up with the manipulation of the facts. If you don’t care…If you don’t speak up… If you don’t take action…Then YOU are part of the problem.
