The individual in this photo runs a website (which we won’t link to). It espouses radical anti-Western views and claims to be the “North American representative” for Sheikh Faisal, a fanatical Islamic preacher. According to this website, the operator is taking advantage of the Constitutional freedom granted everyone to express himself, a freedom he wouldn’t be granted in other countries.

The FBI and local police say he isn’t breaking any laws even though he solicits and provides funding to Sheikh Faisal. Look closely at the picture; behind the man you will see what appears to be an AR-15 or an M-16 rifle. New York City gun laws prohibit the owning of an “assault rifle” within NYC. That is a banana clip in the carbine not a standard 20 shot magazine. So it would appear that the person pictured is guilty of breaking the law, but he is still on line (via Go-Daddy ISP).

The person in the picture is Yousef al-Khattab nee Joseph Cohen, a self described US born secular Jew who converted to Islam… or did he? He has a family blog in which he espouses his “conversion”. In his bio he details his Middle Eastern experiences, schooling and living in the Middle East, but he didn’t stay there he moved back to the U.S. In 2006 he was living in Morocco so his return to NYC is recent. He has appeared at Pro-Islamic rallies in NYC, he is on Youtube. For a taxi driver he seems to have a lot of spare time on his hands.

What a perfect cover story for an undercover agent to infiltrate fanatical Muslims? We are not saying he is a spy, but that would explain the “hands-off” attitude that law enforcement has about him. Fox News has run this story twice; once on April 7, 2008 and once on March 26, 2008. Is Fox News trying to inflame the public? Promote this person’s website? Or are they assisting other entities? We will probably never know!
