Debunking Jesse Ventura

Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura has been caught lying about 9-11 himself.

First, we have this quote from Ventura’s appearance on the Alex Jones Show:

How could those buildings fall at the speed of gravity - if you put a stopwatch on them both of those World Trade Center buildings were on the ground in ten seconds…

This is a blatant lie that has already been debunked.

As we see from the picture found here , the debris, which WAS falling at freefall speeds was falling FASTER than the building, so, logically, the buildings did NOT fall at freefall speeds.

We also have this quote from here as evidence of “truther” dishonesty:

Deceptive videos stop the timer of the fall at 10:09 when only the perimeter column hits the ground and not the building itself. If you notice, the building just finishes disappearing behind the debris cloud which is still about 40 stories high.

Second, Ventura makes this statement in his Alex Jones appearance, which is a lie:

Never before in the annals of history has a fire caused a steel structure building to fall to the ground like these two did.

As I pointed out in a previous article, there were steel structure buildings that COMPLETELY collapsed due to fire, such as the Kader Toy Factory, the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster County, Pa, and a textile factory in Alexandria, Egypt (source).

Third, while it’s true that Ventura was a Navy Seal, common sense tells us that underwater demolition would NOT be the same as building demolition.

For one thing, water is denser than air. At 4ยบ C, water has a density of 1 gram/cubic centimeter, or one g/mL (1 cm^3 = 1 mL- see SciencemadeSimple) , although, as we see from the table here, until the water reaches it’s boiling point, it’s density at other temperatures is so close to 1 g/cm^3 that we can get away with treating it as such.

In addition, as we see at Digg.com, NASA uses an underwater tank to simulate weightlessness, something you can’t do in air.

Finally, I have a few excerpts from Jesse Ventura’s interview on the Opie and Anthony Show ( based on the context, they are talking about the Twin Towers):

At 1 minute, 20 seconds, Ventura wonders why our multi-billion dollar air defense system didn’t stop the flights. The thing is, prior to 911, it was designed to stop flights that originated from OUTSIDE the United States( source).

At 2 minutes at 28 seconds, Ventura brings up the Payne Stewart intercept and repeats the usual “truther” lie that it took only 20 minutes for the fighter jet to intercept Stewart’s plane. As we see here, the loss of contact with Payne Stewart’s plane occurred at 9:33 am EASTERN Daylight Time. The intercept occurred at 9:52 am CENTRAL Daylight Time, meaning said intercept took a total of ONE HOUR AND NINETEEN MINUTES.

At 3 min, 48 seconds, Opie and Anthony mention that all of a sudden, they lose communication with a plane, then said plane hits a building, and a second plane hit amother building later, Ventura said an hour later. This is also false.

As we see here, Flight 11 hit the north tower at 8:46 a.m. and Flight 175 hit the south tower at 9:03 a.m. That is a difference of SEVENTEEN MINUTES.

It looks like Jesse Ventura may want to brush up on his math skills and try getting his facts straight. Then again, given the choice of waiting for Ventura and the rest of the “truthers” to be honest for once and winning the lottery, I’ll buy the lottery ticket- the odds are better.
