Driving after dark in the inner-city, with the fluid glow of electric lighting due entirely to Western science and the free flow of ideas, very often from Jewish minds, I find there is something contemplative, meditative, almost beckoning about it. Even when I have no appointment of value to look forward to, I digress, undistracted by the peripheral and mundane. Yes, I wonder, I wonder I do.

A couple of weeks ago on the 17th of April, about 8pm, I went to a lecture by the wonderful, soft spoken, profoundly intelligent and empirically correct Daniel Pipes. In the car I thought about whether Dan would be heckled or threatened, as he was last time he came here. Gee, and on a University campus of all places. Go figure…
