Update from Jenn: We received the following e-mail from “BDN” about this video today, and wanted to share it with you:

This was when he was running for the senate. At the time he said he didn’t know how he would have voted for the war. He said this during the 2004 convention. He said he only said this to defend Kerry.

It turns out he was much more for the war then he let on.

This interview was to a local Chicago station in April 2004.

At the time it was the height of the insurgency with sadr and al queda. It was long after the police and army had been let go. So Obama can’t say the conditions on the ground were different.

It was already a breeding ground for jihadists. Obama now makes that argument. But he was for u.s presence there.

This video has gotten no media play. This shows how he is protected by the media.
