As many people have said, the constitution is not a suicide pact. Nor is it a living document, which we can mold to fit whatever political movement is popular at the moment. I believe our Founders would be appalled to see what we have done with the Freedom they worked so hard to earn for us. Edited to add:

Dear TXPoet, ya right. So much is rotten in the state of the Union, that one could wake up screaming. And I do.

And no one it seems, has emerged to do a damn thing about it. McCain is sorely lacking and Obama is eerie, to put it mildly. The empty chaos of our PM Rudd and the PC idiocy of Brown, are verging on some manifestation of the seemingly auto spastic.

There’s the great Vaclav Havel, but his country is tiny. Maybe vote for Allen West, a black Republican running for Congress from Florida. An officer, Army vet and a nice family guy too.

We need a Churchill, a Patton and more. Can we make ‘em out of plasticine? God help us all. At least you still have guns and free speech. We don’t anymore, mate.
