Miss Debbie
I refer you to the I.R.S. Revised Code 501(c)(3)
"Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes."
In addition to their tax exempt status as a charity organized und 501(c)(3) La Raza also receives several millions of dollars each year fro the Federal Government which they could legally be required to reimburse upon losing their status as a "non-partisan" charity.

Hi, Debbie! Welcome to FHK. This is sooo not my area of expertise, but if I'm understanding correctly, by campaigning for a particular political candidate, NCLR does not have a right to receive Federal funding, or continue to receive the tax benefits/protections of a registered non-profit.

I don't think for one second that any action will be taken against the NCLR. I love our form of government, but the people running it don't have the guts to confront openly terrorist organizations in our country!
