The Truth Behind Environmental Issues
As a result of my Cherokee heritage I try to practice living in harmony with Mother Earth. Some people could label me an environmentalist except they would be wrong. There is a difference between the views of most environmentalists and mine. The resources of Mother Earth are here to used “as needed” and Mother Earth must be respected. This does not mean we should ignore those resources or to preserve them at the expense of human life.
Man is a flawed creature. He will make errors, but he is also a thinking animal. If he makes a mistake and corrects it Mother Earth in her infinite wisdom and strength will forgive and correct his mistakes over time.
I find the philosophy of the Environmentalists to be reminiscent of those of the Luddites. For those of you not familiar with the Luddites the term is used to describe anyone opposed to technological progress and technological change. Cattle ranchers in Texas and Oklahoma protested the drilling for oil and natural gas on their lands because they were afraid it would destroy their herds and poison the land. Cattle and other livestock today peacefully co-exist on grazing land across America. Oil is being drilled for and pumped from residential areas and you can’t even see the wells since they have been designed to blend in via buildings or landscaping. Cell phone towers are more of a blight on the horizon than oil wells.
I have to ask myself who are these people who oppose progress and oppose America’s self sufficiency. The first descriptive word that comes to mind is Democrat. The next is rich. The website “Undue Influence” delves into some of the groups funding these influential organizations. The FBI has reports on others who use criminal activity to get their way (ELF, ALF, Greenpeace, PETA and the PCRM). Some of these groups even hold tax exempt status under current IRS filings while remaining on lists as known domestic terrorist organizations.
Some of the business connections their contributors have would seem to be in contradiction these same environmental causes; Al Gore with his oil stock portfolio, Ted Turner with his vast timber and lumber operations, Teresa Heinz-Kerry with her vast polluting manufacturing empire (most of which she has moved off shore to take advantage of laxer environmental laws). You have to ask yourself…why they support something that hurts their profit margin. Well, I will give you a hint it is not altruism! Read this article about how Ted Turner’s sponsorship gives him protection against ecoterrorists. Follow the money and decide for yourself why the rich don’t want you to succeed and how they can manipulate environmental issues to make even more money by costing you more of your hard earned paycheck.
There is a reason that the leftists, socialists and Democrats oppose drilling, nuclear power, alternative power sources and anything that will help this country get a handle on energy and that reason is money. Your money…they want it. The number one trading company in carbon credits (a non-existent commodity) is Al Gore. P.T. Barnum is accredited with say, “There is a sucker born every minute!”, but it was David Hannum who actually said it. It is like the man-made global warming say it long enough and loud enough people might believe it.
The longer the debate goes on the harder it will be to sustain or recover our standard of living. Drill now! Start building nuclear reactors, erect wind farms, install tidal generators and do it all now!
