Obama And His Communist Mentor

Obama’s Cover-up

The implication of the Edwards scandal is that, if ABC News’s top investigative reporter could take Edwards’ side, without any serious checking of the facts, then other candidates may be concealing scandals and hoping and planning to get away with it. That is certainly the case with Obama, who is far more of a media favorite than Edwards ever was and has, with the help of the influential Associated Press (AP), carefully concealed his relationship with an identified CPUSA member.

Obama’s communist connection, which he failed to disclose in his 1995 book, Dreams From My Father, by referring to Davis only as “Frank” and ignoring his communist affiliation, is a far more serious scandal than an Edwards “love child.”

CPUSA is the Communist Party USA and the Frank he is referring to is Frank Marshall Davis.

A scandal requires wrongdoing. Obama’s relationship with Davis was not a scandal.

Besides, they have it wrong about Frank Marshall Davis. Edgar Tidwell, whom AIM’s Cliff Kincaid cites as “an expert on the life and writings of Davis,” demolishes right-wing misrepresentation of Davis’s radical influence in one simple paragraph:

“Although my research indicates that Davis joined the CPUSA as a “closet member” during World War II, there is no evidence that he was a Stalinist, or even a Party member before WWII. Further, to those attempting to make the specious stand for the concrete, there is no evidence that he instructed Barack Obama in communist ideology. Frank Marshall Davis did NOT believe in overthrowing the USA. He was committed to what the nation professed to be. For him, communism was primarily an intellectual vehicle to achieve a political end-a possible tool for gaining the constitutional freedoms of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for ALL Americans.” (See http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/blog/Kaleokualoha)

Kaleokualoha. It seems that you are all over the net posting about this and claiming Davis was not Communist even though several friends and the Communist Party have said he was. The New Red Negro: The Literary Left and African American Poetry, 1930-1946, names Davis as one of several black poets who continued to publish in CPUSA-supported publications after the 1939 Hitler-Stalin non-aggression pact.
There is a deliberate attempt to scrub all connections of Davis to Obama and to rewrite the history of Frank Marshal Davis. Like many things in Obama’s past that he is trying to hide it is a little early since some people are still alive to remember. Having personally known AKU and knowing of Davis, Davis believed every word he spoke. He chose to take the 5th when asked about his CP membership. He was a vocal talented radical but didn’t have the spine to acknowlege his guilt. Shaka Brudder

Kaleo I am curious to hear your thoughts on Obama’s relationship with Farrakhan, Wright and Ayers. Not to mention his wife’s own Marxist leanings.

My first presidential election was 1996 when I voted for Bob Dole. I have voted Republican ever since and consider myslef a conservative which is why I refuse to vote for John McCain or Barack Obama– Obama for the obvious reasons — but I find McCain much more troubling. I know who Obama is. I thought I knew who John McCain was, but the attention his campaign is wasting on some stupid communist from the 60’s while the dow is closing below 600–again, makes no sense to me–neither does his selection of Palin, who I honestly believe is even less experienced than Obama to be president –and his mortgage bailout proposal? OK Comrade!!! That is why I am voting for Bob Barr and the Libertarian ticket –it’s time to send a message to our supposedly conservative Republican party –we’re not stupid and we won’t blindly follow your lead anymore. I suggest you do the same… Barr- Root 08!

    Hi Kelvin..

The less politicians talk about and interject in the market the better, being a libertarian I would think you figured that one out.

The markets fix themselves, Obama is un-fixable and will only meddle in the markets more (socialism)…

Plus, Bob Barr calls our troops occupiers…. he’s only a hair right of Kucinich…

I won’t even go into the wasted vote factor…

    Good luck with it though……
