UPDATE: It appears the “mistake” at the Oklahoma City theater was not an isolated incident…from An American Carol:

“We have had heard from numerous people across the country that there has been some ticket fraud when buying a ticket for An American Carol this past weekend.

“Please check your ticket. If you were in fact one of those people that were “mistakenly” sold a ticket for another movie please fill out the form below. Hold on to your ticket so we can have proof.

“If you have noticed other irregularities with the theatres in your area please let us know in the comment section below. For instance, Rated R film rating (when in fact we are rated PG-13), posters not being up, not being listed on the marquee, image or focus problems, sound issues, etc.

“Please email us a picture of your ticket stub to fraud@americancarol.com

“We are investigating.”

This weekend, I went to see the movie, An American Carol), with several other conservative and liberty-minded political activists and bloggers from all over Oklahoma.

The movie was great, but something interesting happened at the theater. Okie Campaigns tells the story:

“While in line to gets our Tickets, Jenn saw that the movie rating for an ‘An American Carol’ was posted as a ‘R’ rating and NOT PG as it should have been !

“When I ask the lady selling Tickets about it, all she could say was ‘that they ran out of PG signs’, talk about a lame come back !

“I know a lot of people that will NOT see a ‘R’ rated movie, but, will see ‘PG’ rated movie.

“Now was this a just a goof up by the staff, or did they try to discourage people from seeing the movie ?…(more)”

The lady selling tickets just really didn’t seem to care about her job, so it’s hard to know what the theater’s intention was – But there certainly didn’t seem to be a sense of urgency to fix the problems, and they were obviously aware of the incorrect rating. By the time the movie was over, at least the lower “R” had been taken down, although the more visible “R Warning” sign was still up.

  1. Debbie says:

I heard it still came in third this weekend. We plan to go see it.

  2. Dear Jenn, I can’t wait to see it. Kelsey Grammer as General Patton!

Yes, it’s amazing that this vast and endless panorama of ripe Leftard Liberal parody has been so largely er, untapped. Yep, they don’t like to be ridiculed much.

Is it scientifically possible for Robin Williams to go with the same repeated ad nauseum hyperbole predictability regards Obama as he does with George? Obviously not. For that, would Robin need to use less or more cocaine?

Thanks for the continued and thoughtful post layouts. All the best from Colonel Neville.

Very good points, Colonel Robert Neville, and I am continually amazed at the utter contempt of most of Hollywood toward the country and Christian values that give them the freedom and liberty to do what they do.

I hope you get to see the movie soon…be prepared for the slapstick humor of the “Airplane” and “Scary Movies.”

  4. I didnt get to see it last weekend due to family issues. But this weekend hopefully. Thanks for the info on the fraud, I will pay extra attention when I go.
