Obama’s Ties to Radical, ACORN-Allied ‘New Party’ in Illinois

This was sent in from Andrew Griffin, of the RedDirtReport.com:

“For those of you who don’t know, I was actively involved in third-party politics throughout the 1990’s and into the 2000’s. During that time I became familiar with the ‘New Party’ in Arkansas. Back in ‘96, the fledgling ‘fair housing’ New Party had one a city-wide office in Little Rock on the city’s ‘Board of Directors.’ Curious about third-party politics, I paid attention to this, particularly since it was going on in Arkansas where I lived and went to college.

“Well, it appears that at the time, up in the Chicago area, one-time community organizer Barack Obama, by then a state senator, was linked with the New Party which has a decidely grassroots socialist outlook. It’s closely tied to ACORN, the radical group currently being investigated for voter fraud in states across the country. Obama had been involved with ACORN in Illinois. Interesting that ACORN got its start in Little Rock as well.

“Apparently there has been an effort to scrub any reference to Obama’s involvement with the New Party. But investigative bloggers have uncovered some information linking Obama and Sun Myung Moon worshipper Rep. Danny Davis, also of Chicago, to the New Party.

Here’s the link to the archived New Party successes (Note the Illinois list).

And here’s the link to the blogger info.

“And from the Nov. 1996 issue of the Progressive Populist (of which I used to subscribe) [emphasis added]:

New Party members and supported candidates won 16 of 23 races, including an at-large race for the Little Rock, Ark., City Council, a seat on the county board for Little Rock and the school board for Prince George’s County, Md. Chicago is sending the first New Party member to Congress, as Danny Davis, who ran as a Democrat, won an overwhelming 85% victory. New Party member Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago.

“Will the lamestream media look into this affiliation, considering they have done that darn tootin’-ist to link Sarah Palin to the Alaska Independence Party? Obama wants a socialist government, not unlike the one his pal Odinga operates in Kenya.”

  1. I believe that Obama is not being truthful about his connection with Acorn and Ayers. If indeed he is trying to tell the American voters that he did not know about Ayers and his radical activities, that really scares me and many others I have spoken to. For Obama to say that happened when I was 8 years old or what ever his age at the time, is beyond my imagination. Then to say he was just someone who lived on my street. Also, I went to church for 20 years and never heard Rev. Wright make any comments such as he made and we saw him make on TV making the statments, is giving the american citizens no credit for common sense. After all, we teach our children to be careful who you associate yourself with. I don’t suppose he heard talk of Ayers from others either. A man of his inteligence that did not know of those he surrounded himself with, then we sure don’t want him as president for he will not be able to distinguish the good from the bad of those who are out there wanting to do harm to America and it’s people. Obama must give a direct answer as to when he learned of Ayers and his activities and his honest tie’s to Acorn. Watch out America character does count.

I agree, Wanda, and would add that one of the key elements in this association of Obama and Ayers is that Ayers is unrepentant.

To say that someone has paid his debt to society, etc., and the he deserves a second chance implies not only that he served time for what he did, but that he has expressed regret for his actions and does not intend to continue on that course in the future. Ayers, however, has clearly stated that he does not regret what he did, and that he wishes he’d accomplished more. The only “change” he made was from violent terrorist tactics to tactics geared toward indoctrinating our youth from within – his goal has clearly not changed. And Obama seems perfectly fine with that.

My first presidential election was 1996 when I voted for Bob Dole. I have voted Republican ever since and consider myslef a conservative which is why I refuse to vote for John McCain or Barack Obama– Obama for the obvious reasons — but I find McCain much more troubling. I know who Obama is. I thought I knew who John McCain was, but the attention his campaign is wasting on some stupid communist from the 60’s while the dow is closing below 600–again, makes no sense to me–neither does his selection of Palin, who I honestly believe is even less experienced than Obama to be president –and his mortgage bailout proposal? OK Comrade!!! That is why I am voting for Bob Barr and the Libertarian ticket –it’s time to send a message to our supposedly conservative Republican party –we’re not stupid and we won’t blindly follow your lead anymore. I suggest you do the same… Barr- Root 08!

How come nobody talks about Sarah Palin palling around with anti-American extremists? Perhaps not terrorists by name, but there is certainly a major radical component to any group spitting on the American flag and wanting to be freed of any American influence. So, why, oh why, did Sarah Palin attend the AIP (Alaska Independence Party) convention in 1994 and 2000, when during both conventions the party platform called for secession from America? Why, oh why, was Sarah Palin so inspired by this anti-American radical group that she would give a keynote address at the 2006 AIP convention? Why was she, again, so enamored with this radical anti-American group that she would give a videotaped cheerful greeting to be played at this year’s, the 2008 AIP convention? Why was her husband Scott Palin a card carrying MEMBER of the AIP (remember, the ultimate goal of that radical party is to seccede from America and become its own country, and the founder has repeatedly made anti-American and anti-flag remarks) from 1995 to 2002?

So, why are Sarah Palin and her husband palling around with people who spit on the American flag, hate America, are no patriots, but to the extreme opposite hate everything America stands for?

Most people don’t realize the true background of Sarah Palin and her husband from the days prior to Palin winning Alaska’s gubernatorial race, but it is disturbing, decidedly anti-patriotic and you bet if Michelle Obama had at any point been a card carrying member of an anti-american seccessionist party or group, the right-wing would (appropriately) have lots to say about it.

Hypocrisy at its finest that Palin now gets a pass from the patriotic right wing for her long-time and close association with this anti-American, anti-patriotic radical party/group, and even more hypocrisy that Scott Palin’s actual membership in this anti-American and anti-patriotic party for a full 7 years is not of any concern, does not even raise any questions about Palin’s qualifications.

The right would be screaming from the rooftops if things were reversed and Obama had attended, given keynote speeches and had produced a video-taped speech to be played at the convention of a seccessionist America-hating party. The right would be screaming from the rooftops if Michelle Obama had at any point been registered as a member of such an America-hating, seccession-seeking party. Rightfully so, which makes one wonder why there is not a single question about the Palin’s obvious close involvement with their pals from the AIP.

Oh, please, Georgep. Even the guy that started that silly rumor doesn’t believe it anymore.

  6. Florida Voter says:

The press has dug into Sarah Palin’s life more in the past 5 weeks than they’ve looked into Obama’s life in the past 2 years. We know Sarah Palin’s entire high school history, college history and that she played the flute for her talent in a pagent to win college money, but we don’t know anything about Obama’s years at Columbia University and we haven’t gotten answers about the questionable connections that funded his Harvard education. We know every vote Sarah Palin ever made and she prefers to eat moose, but we haven’t seen Obama’s birth certificate or found out why he’s registered for school under so four different names.

Why won’t the mainstream media vet Obama? Are we going to stand idly by while the media chooses our president for us? Or are we going to demand the information needed to make an informed decision?

  7. Kelvin says:

Sorry Jen, Sarah Palin adressing the AIP is not a rumor..here’s the video — and her husband WAS a member.

  8. Jenn Sierra Jenn Sierra says:

Oh, for crying out loud! She’s the governor, and she gave a video-taped welcome to an AIP convention. That doesn’t mean she supported any sessionist agenda. Governors have to give those sorts of speeches all of the time – to a lot of groups they don’t necessarily personally endorse.

And comparing the fact that the husband of the vice-president may have once been a member of a controversial party to the fact that the nominee for president is currently associated with all sorts of anti-America scum just doesn’t make sense.
