UPDATE: Bob Weeks, of Wichita Liberty, has better photos, here.
UPDATE: I just returned from the Defending the American Dream Summit, at the Nation’s Capitol in Washington, D.C.. The weather was gorgeous, the view amazing, and the crowd riled-up. Tim Phillips of Washington, D.C., Dallas Woodhouse of South Carolina, Peggy Venable of Texas, Peter Foy of California, and Steve Lonegan of New Jersey all gave rousing speeches to the theme of, No, Nancy Pelosi, the free market didn’t cause the mortage crisis – it was government interference in the free market that caused this crisis.
Inspiring a round of “Drill, baby, Drill!” chants, Peggy Venable said,
Government is not responsible for the American Dream; we are…Government is not the answer; we are!
Steve Lonegan said that he has never seen our principles under attack like they are now, and started the crowd of about 1,000 chanting enthusiastically, “No new taxes! No new taxes!
As soon as I got back to the beautiful Crystal Gateway Marriott and turned on FoxNews, I saw the rally on Neal Cavuto’s Common Sense program. Hopefully, more media outlets will report on this report, and our legislators will get the message.
ORIGINAL POST: I’ll be attending the rally this afternoon at the Capitol in D.C.. If anyone’s in the D.C. area, I encourage you to join us. For more information, go to Defending the Dream.

This was one of the best events I have ever attended. The forums were fantastic, and the people were really into learning and sharing. The Tribute To Ronald Reagan Dinner was grand. The speakers were all great. The open forum on Saturday was really uplifting.
I also attended the rally. We were fired up. That’s me in the Red Hat and Blue shirt. I hope to do it again with AFP. I also would like to help get a chapter going in Indiana.
Thanks Jenn for the nice post!
