We have always carried. This year we got our conceal carry license so that we were in fact legal. Because of crime escalation, we would continue to carry, legal or not. Having grown up with a weapon in our hands at a very young age, we have never even thought of being without one. Our kids were instructed on safe gun handling when they were old enough to hold and pull the trigger without landing on their butts. Anyone breaking into our home will get a quick education. As well as anyone trying to steal or destroy anything on our property. Maybe it is a bit of the old west......we believe what's ours is ours, not yours. We live on a hill in the Texas hill country. Where if we had a home invasion, the law, even if they were to jump in their car at the exact moment we called for help, (if we were still able to call) they would still be over an hour away. We also comute to and from San Antonio,(number 1 in the entire country in crime) mostly during the hours of darkness for work, so this too is a major reason for our support of open carry in Texas. We've been married for over 30 years, and I will not allow any harm come to her, open carry or not. Thank you for your time.
