Seems the dems would prefer a United States of Mexico here anyway, though they’ll likely change they view if they get what they want.

Bill he needs money and is asking for it first. Also I believe that he wants to size up the opposition which has come from the Democrats as to be expected.

Ummm, Perry is CinC of the Texas National Guard, which he can call out within the state’s borders whenever he deems it necessary. So why does he need Regulars?
