www.Wednesday: Ning.com Improves the “Home Page” Experience.

Several weeks ago I wrote about Ning.com being the next place for Conservatives to network online. (See Ning.com on FHK.)
The problem with Ning.com has been that every social network within the site is treated as a completely separate social network. It’s necessary to join each network individually, and they each have their own ambiance and “rules.” For Ning.com members who have joined multiple Ning.com networks, some things stay with you through all of the networks, including your avatar, your e-mail address, your default settings, and any mutual friends you might have in each network.
However, until this week, each network has felt very much like a “separate” network with no way to keep track of the pending inbox messages, replies to posts and discussions, friend requests, group invites, etc., except to sign into each network, one at a time and check, or fix your settings to be e-mailed every time any of these things occur (very time consuming).
Now, Ning has created a much more comprehensive “home page” for members, which shows all of your networks, notifications, and recent discussions in one place. Now, all you have to do is sign into Ning.com, using your e-mail address and Ning password, and you’ll be taken to your home page.
Much better! Check it out.
