Obama Through The Back Door

If the Obama sponsored Global Poverty Act with its clauses making the US subservient to the UN and banning the production of small arms and ammunition (this Bill did not pass) wasn’t bad enough, now they are using government regulations to attack ammunition manufacturers in order to circumvent Congress.

The Obama Administration with the help Rep Bobby Rush of Illinois and the blatant gun discrimination of HR 45 was just one shot at gun ownership. Rush named this Bill after a young man who was shot in Chicago. It is interesting to note that Chicago already has imposed some of the strictest gun laws in America but now the only people with guns there are the outlaws.

The Defense Logistics Office and Department of Defense confirms that it has now rescinded its short lived policy of shredding used brass cartridges before selling to salvage companies. This was obvious a response to the quick uproar from around the patriot gun owners from around the country.

Eighteen States (Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee and Washington) are now considering something they call the “Ammunition Accountability Act”. Check to see who the sponsoring legislatures are in your State because they probably are receiving funds from the Seattle based Company or their lobbyists who are sponsoring this fiasco. Unfortunately the Obama sycophants are more than willing to join in this effort to enrich the patent holders while bankrupting ammunition manufacturers.

It is evident that Obama and Holder would prefer a law but until they own the Supreme Court they are willing to continue going through the back door to violate the spirit and the intent of the Second Amendment. We must be vigilant!

    Dear Congresswoman Markey:

Congratulations on your election to office!

There are a number of issues in the spotlight today, such as the state of the economy and two overseas wars, but today, I’d like to discuss a different issue.
I believe that we have a common bond. In 1992, I swore to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. You too, must love this country as you voluntarily chose to serve as a Congresswoman of my district.

Clearly, the majority of your constituents voted you into office because we wanted change. We see the war in Iraq and the unraveling of the economy as major issues, and we saw a “clean slate” as a likely way to invoke change quickly.

You will soon see a bill (perhaps several) which addresses the 2nd Amendment of our Bill of Rights quietly cross your desk in the shadows of more popular, looming issues. HR45, titled “Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009” deeply concerns me. The catalyst for this bill is a sad story which I’m sure you’ve heard. However, the shooter used a weapon that was given to him illegally. Two people involved broke laws that were already in place. HR45 will not produce a useful or productive result for the public.
Please allow me challenge you with this question: “When has gun control, i.e. victim disarmament, ever reduced crime”? Next to New Orleans, Washington D.C. has historically had the most restrictive gun ordinances in the nation and the highest crime rate (with the use of guns). Disarming law-abiding citizens through legislation does not disarm criminals.

Closer to home, let’s review a recent shooting only a few blocks from my home in Greeley several weeks ago. While on parole, Cecil J. Erb, 27, shot and killed Jeffery Watson Sr, 44 in his pickup truck while preparing to leave for work. Cecil has a long criminal record, including making a false bomb threat at a Greeley post office four years ago. According to the Greeley Tribune, he had also been arrested on numerous traffic violations, assaults and violation of parole. Clearly, it was already illegal for him to possess a gun. I ask that you take the time to carefully consider all arguments before casting your vote on behalf of Colorado’s 4th Congressional District residents because HR45 is a step toward victim disarmament.

While the number of legal firearms owners in Britain has been declining due to a hostile gun control bureaucracy, crimes involving firearms increased 196% between 1981 – 1992.
“Criminal Statistics England and Wales” 1992, p.34,65

Given the frontier history and individualist ideology of the United States, however, this will not come easily. It certainly cannot be done radically. It will probably take one, maybe two generations. It might be 50 years before the United States gets to where Britain is today. Passing a law like the assault weapons ban is a symbolic-purely symbolic-move in that direction. Its only real justification is not to reduce crime but to desensitize the public to the regulation of weapons in preparation for their ultimate confiscation.
    Charles Krauthammer, “Disarm the Citizenry,”
The Washington Post, 5 April 1996

I encourage you to listen to the voice of your district and strongly oppose gun restrictions, licensing, waiting periods or any other infringements of our 2nd amendment rights. Rather than writing and regulating new laws, I believe it would be more beneficial to focus on ways of enforcing existing laws. Perhaps if that was done, Mr. Erb would have remained locked up, or tracked with an ankle bracelet, rather than to be free to commit crimes.

The people of the United States will not idly stand by and permit our elected officials to pass laws which are opposed to our values! I am reminded of the words of President Carter on January 23, 1980 when he addressed America’s interest in the Persian Gulf. “Let our position be absolutely clear: An attempt by any outside force to gain control of the Persian Gulf region will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of the United States of America, and such an assault will be repelled by any means necessary, including military force.” The majority of district 4 residents do NOT support additional regulation of any kind and certainly do not support another gun ban. Another gun ban (victim disarmament) will be regarded as an assault on the Constitution of the United States. I expect you to not only vote against future proposed gun bans, but also encourage your colleagues to recognize the sacred document as the supreme law of the United States of America. We expect you to do your job by representing your constituents and defending the Constitution of the United States. If we find your voting record to be the contrary, I will consider your actions to be an assault on the vital interests of “We the People of the United States.”

Thank you for your time and for your service to our district and state.

    Sincerely,
    Darin Ward
    Greeley, CO

Surprisingly, she wrote back and stated that she will oppose the bill if it comes up for vote in the house. We will be scoring her.
