Woman’s Inhumanity to Woman, Jihadic Style. President Obama, Please Read This.

While I was enjoying some sunshine in Savannah, (more to come about that), World War Four continued to rage blithely on.
Al-Qaeda in Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and North Africa, threatened terrorist attacks against Germany and Holland and threatened to kill a British hostage (captured on the border between Niger and Mali), if Britain does not release a radical Muslim preacher.
The Pakistani Taliban shot a couple dead for alleged adultery and their execution in Islamabad was captured on a cellphone; Egyptian police arrested a Muslim woman for having married a Coptic Christian; in Lahore, a Muslim husband killed his wife for failing to bear a son; in the Punjab, a Sikh physician-husband amputated his wife’s hand and that of her cousin with whom he suspected she was having an affair.
So much for male terrorists in foreign lands…Continue reading on Chesler Chronicles >>
Specter’s Specter

(Cross posted from America Needs Me)
The Republican who never was cemented his position in the popular kids clique today.
The Arlen Specter/GOP relationship has been one-way from its inception: he takes cash when he needs to be reelected then votes with the Democrats when it is important. His exit doesn’t really do much other than enable the RNC to spend its money on someone who won’t crap all over the party. Whether it will actually do that remains to be seen. My faith in who the party supports financially is practically nonexistent.
This will invariably be portrayed as one man simply sticking to his convictions when his party has abandoned him, an idea so loaded with manure it could fertilize farms in the western hemisphere for a decade. This is simply about Specter taking the path of least resistance in his waning years. He’d rather go out having his ass kissed than…what’s the word…oh yeah, working. Nicole Richie has body fat in greater abundance than Arlen Specter’s convictions.
There is now a lot of consternation about the Democrats having a filibuster-proof majority. That was going to happen anyway. In reality, it already had happened given the fact that Specter jumped ship during the first Hope and Changey vote he was presented with. It doesn’t matter whether there is an “R” or a “D” after a senator’s name. If the votes are there, then the votes are there. And they were, thanks to Specter.
In the end I can’t blame Specter for much. Republicans have, after all, been electing representatives who aren’t big on, well, representing us, for years. Just this morning, Scott Rasmussen explored the growing disconnect between the Beltway GOP and “the rest of us”.
The disconnect between D.C. Republicans and Republicans throughout the country has been growing for nearly 20 years, but it became more intense and noticeable during the waning years of the Bush administration.
This is what I’ve been trying to explain to my friends on the Left since the Tea Parties; we’ve been sick of this crap for a while now.
The elitist disconnect seems to be a prerequisite for functioning in the Senate, where it then becomes pathological. There isn’t a cushier gig in America than being a United States Senator. You don’t have to mess around with reelection very often. You get paid extremely well. It’s essentially a 19th Century House of Lords with American accents. That’s why people like Specter, Teddy Kennedy and Robert Byrd won’t just retire, already. Retirement would be hard compared to being a senator.
The only cure for this disconnect (whichever side it occurs on) is greater participation by those of us who feel we’re being disenfranchised. As always, the solution is in the Constitution. American citizens have extraordinary power, we simply choose not to use it most of the time. Apathy before an election and whining after are easy. Working a phone bank, signing up voters, canvassing door-to-door aren’t. It’s time to stop complaining about our ballot choices if we haven’t done anything to influence them.
This disconnect is perilously close to biting Americans of any political persuasion on the butt.
The gap between Beltway Republicans and the Republican base is part of a wider gap between the Mainstream and the Political Class. On many issues, the gap between Mainstream Americans and the Political Class is bigger than the gap between Mainstream Republicans and Mainstream Democrats.
The fact that this is a representative republic seems to be in need of constant repetition now. We are in control of who we elect to represent us. If we keep sending people to Washington who represent only themselves we aren’t participating in the process to the fullest. The point I kept making during the Tea Parties was that the mere physical presence of a representative doesn’t indicate that any actual representation is taking place.
American citizens in either party would do well to grasp this point. Congressional approval ratings have been low across the board so the disconnect can’t only be happening on the Right. If we keep allowing people like Arlen Specter to represent no one other than themselves we run the risk of the chasm between elected officials and those they are supposed to serve growing wider by the minute. Very soon the “Us” vs. “Them” discussion may not occur between Republicans and Democrats but between an overly powerful political class and an almost silent constituency.
In other words: all of us outside of Washington will be irrelevant.

Update your Facebook Password Forthwith! (No, seriously, go update your Facebook Password right now!)

There is a phishing attack underway at Facebook – it seems to be “spam” related, rather than malicious (This means the hackers are trying to sell stuff, not crash your computer)…which is the good news. The bad news is that if they get your user ID and password they can really embarrass you in front of your Facebook friends by using your account to spam your friends.
How are they doing that? Basically, the way it works is you get a message from a friend, and when you click on it, it takes you back to the sign-up page. Except it’s not really the Facebook sign-up page, it’s the hacker’s (”phishers”) website – You’ll know, because the web address of the phisher will be in the window of your browser. Earlier in the week, it was FBAction.com; today, it’s FBStarter.com.
If this happens, DO NOT ENTER YOUR LOGIN INFORMATION! Just go back to your home page, and continue enjoying Facebook.
If it’s too late, or if you aren’t sure if you might have done this, just go ahead and update your Facebook Password…now…go…your friends will appreciate not receiving spam messages from you.
For more information to to TechCrunch, and see New Phishing Attack Spreading On Facebook. This Time From FBstarter, and Phishing Attack Underway At Facebook. Don’t Sign In To Fbaction.net.
Oh – and if you’re trying to warn your friends ON Facebook about the scam, don’t use the urls for FBAction.net, or FBStarter.com – Facebook has blocked ALL outgoing links to those sites to try to protect its users. Also, be on the lookout for other similar scams.

Promote your Blog with TwitterFeed

(Updated from July 22, 2007)
Mario, of London, has created an application to automatically update Twitter with your blog feed called TwitterFeed.
The sign-up process is quick and easy. You’ll need a Twitter account, an OpenID, WordPress or Yahoo account, and the address of the feed on your blog. Once you have those three things, go to TwitterFeed, and follow the quick sign-up process.
Voila! TwitterFeed will check your feed, and update Twitter as often as you like, with as many posts as you like.
TwitterFeed is a third-party application, and is not affiliated with Twitter.com.
Prolific bloggers (who update several times a day) may want to consider having one Twitter account for their blogs, and a separate one for personal updates to avoid “over exposure,” and the loss of followers on Twitter. As an example, @FortHardKnox is for blog updates, whereas several of the regular bloggers on Ft. Hard Knox (several of whom also have their own blogs) also have their own Twitter accounts, and individual networks of followers and friends, such as @Goodwyne (Ron), @GhostRanger (Tex), @StephenKruiser, @ZackRawsthorne (Diversity Lane), @TheDrakingPoint (Drake Dunnaway), @ArlenWilliams, @FaultlineUSA (Barb), and @JennSierra.
Create a Dynamic e-Mail Signature with WiseStamp.com

I got this from Duane Lester, of AllAmericanBlogger.com, and RFCRadio.com (Radio for Conservatives), tried it, and like it.
WiseStamp.com allows users to add a dynamic, interactive signature to outgoing e-mails which includes photos, links to e-mail, websites/blogs, social networks, and IM profiles. It works in web-based e-mail applications like gmail, Yahoo, MSN, and AOL. Unfortunately, it only works in FireFox right now, but there is a sign-up list for a notification when it is available in Internet Explorer.
Basically, to use the service, go to WiseStamp.com, and download the application, which will be displayed in your “Tools” menu of your FireFox browser. Click on the link, and follow the directions to customize your signature.

4/27: The Obamination Terrorist Attack
April 28, 2009 by DannoJYD
The April 27 Obama administration approved terrorist attack of New York will go down in history as being one of the biggest mistakes made by him, but hardly the last.
Â
Reportedly, B.O.’s people were working on his re-election campaign by trying to get a new photo of Air Force One against the New York back drop. While the FAA had been notified they were told to keep the manuevers a secret. No one has yet explained how or why a mere photo op had become a classified mission.
Â
That classified secret was observed by thousands of New Yorkers who promptly evacuated their buildings and took to the streets. Many mistakenly thought Obama’s jet that was being chased by a F-16 was really Osama’s. Others cannot see any difference as both managed to terrorize the city. It remains unknown how many were injured by Obama’s photo op, or if anyone was killed.
Â
Mayor Bloomburg was quoted as saying:
“Why the Defense Department wanted to do a photo op right around the site of the World Trade Center catastrophe defies imagination,” he said. “Poor judgment would be a nice way to phrase it”.
Â
The noise from the not-quite-green debacle was enough to terrorize the few who didn’t see the publicity stunt. Fortunately the President has made the word “terrorist” politically incorrect or he would now aptly be labeled as such even if he again tried to duck responsibility. Blaming this on Bush promises to be a daunting task for the Obamination.
Â
Tonight Obama will be carried on the ObamaMedia networks. Perhaps we will again be treated by a fly-over.

Bush Again Saves B.O.’s Bacon

While clueless ObamaBots work overtime to blame the upcoming Mexican Flu Pandemic on Bush the facts are leaking out on how the Bush Administration developed new methods for dealing with this life threatening disease.
The Wall Street Journal reports,
“Under President Bush, the federal government worked with manufacturers to accelerate vaccine development, stockpiled crucial antivirals like Tamiflu, war-gamed pandemic scenarios with senior officials, and increased the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) sample identification capabilities. These activities are bearing fruit today.”
Compare that to the Obamination which has yet to make the appointments of a surgeon general, or a head of the CDC.
Let’s give credit where credit is due. At least the Obamination gave New Yorkers a thrill on Monday.
This is what Americans who voted democrat, and Americans who didn’t vote, have given us. How is that hope thingy working for you folks now? [Cough! Cough!]
