Instead, I and a handful of other bloggers like me have taken a considerable amount of heat from the members of the blogging community for adhering to our policy of not linking to or quoting A.P. stories. The prevailing wisdom seems to be that it’s impossible not to use link to the A.P. on a regular basis – not true. There are plenty of other news sources out there, and except for the need to occassional criticize the obvious left-leaning bias or general incompetence of the organization, there is really no need to pay the A.P. to quote its reports.
