Tiller Murder Suspect on the FBI Watch List for over a Decade

WIBW.com, unlike the majority of the mainstream media, and the leftosphere is not using the murder of the nation’s most famous late-term abortionist to honor the man, or to call all pro-life supporters terrorists, or to blame Bill O’Reilly for supposedly inciting the murder.

They’re also not falling all over themselves “denouncing” the murder, like so many on the right. (Seriously, people – It’s a murder. Let’s call it what it is and move on.)

Instead, WIBW is doing a little investigative journalism (Kudos!), and is reporting:

The man accused of killing Wichita abortion doctor George Tiller is a familiar name to Topeka-area law enforcement, not necessarily for his anti-abortion view, but for his anti-government activity.

An anti-government license tag gave authorities the ammunition they needed April 16th, 1996, to pull over then 38-year old Scott Roeder. In his trunk, they found blasting caps, batteries, a one-pound can of gunpowder and documents on how to make hand grenades and other explosives.

Authorities say they had reason to be suspicious. Then-Shawnee Co. Sheriff Dave Meneley said at the time that Roeder was on an FBI list of people trained by the anti-government group, the Freeman.

Roeder’s father, John, who has since passed away, told 13 News at the time that his son had become increasingly hostile toward the government. His father said it was a big reason Scott Roeder’s wife, Lindsay, divorced him…Continue reading, and see videos of the 1996 story on WIBW.com >>

IF Scott Roeder is the murderer of Dr. Tiller, it seems that what we’re dealing with may be a person who has been angry and potentially dangerous for a long, long time – to the point of alienating his own family. That hardly describes the “typical” pro-life activist.

The “terrorism” angle is an interesting one, though. I wonder if the left will be as eager to “appease” the folks they are now calling terrorists as they have been to appease the jihadis that have been murdering people worldwide for 1400 years? Will the progressives be on TV nightly, exhibiting their self-flagellation over what Dr. Tiller and the pro-choice movement has done to anger the pro-life movement?

I didn’t think so.

  1. Excellent analysis of this situation. A person engaged in really despicable deeds – what he did is unconscionable – and yet it is not up to any one us to decide to take his life. Those blaming O’Reilly are just like those spinning the take on Limbaugh’s comment about hoping Obama’s policies fail. This is not much different. The Left is not capbable of honest thought.
