The Scariest Part of the SOTU Speech
January 28, 2010 by TXPoet

I will admit to being one of those who could not stomach watching Obama’s SOTU speech. I have had my fill of his lies and his constant projecting of himself as a savior. I was not going to watch and add a number to his viewing polls, but I did watch the speech later online.
Most of his lies were fairly transparent and I fail to understand how 45% to 47% of the American public can still have any confidence or faith in this master manipulator. He has been a failure at anything resembling leadership. He and his minions have only made marginal successes via intimidation, bullying, and bribery.
One part of his speech did send chills down my spine and although mentioned by the MSM it seems that it was glossed over. Obama has portrayed himself as a Constitutional Scholar yet believes the Constitution is flawed and should be changed. His lack of knowledge about the history and civics of America has been very evident from his speeches. His bias against American ideals and mores punctuates his every photo and teleprompter opportunity.
This is the part of the speech that scares me:
With all due deference to separation of powers*, Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests – including foreign corporations – to spend without limit in our elections. Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that’s why I’m urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong.
*This phrase was omitted from the printed transcript.
The SCOTUS case and ruling dealt with a point of law from the 2002 Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, and the case dealt with free speech and the right of ALL citizens to participate in the election process. The mission of the Supreme Court is to determine the Constitutionality of a law. They determined that McCain-Feingold was Constitutionally flawed. It is not their fault that the Congress of the United States is passing bad law.
During this past session of Congress we have seen multiple instances of bad law. We are seeing attempts by the Obama Administration to subjugate America under the auspices of the UN in contravention to the Constitution. We have seen them trample on the Constitution and state that they want the Court to “break free” of the constraints placed on it by the Constitution. Obama says the Constitution is flawed because it mostly “says what the states can’t do to you … what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.”
We have seen Obama skirt the law by appointing “Czars” and shutting out the Legislature now he wants to control or minimize the SCOTUS. He is establishing a base of power without any checks or balances within the Executive Branch. This is very scary!
Obama railed against possible foreign contributors to campaigns yet his own campaign benefited by at least $63 million from foreign sources. There does not seem to be any investigation by the Federal Elections Commission into the discrepancies in Obama’s campaign monies. Also Obama’s education at Harvard seems to have been assisted by an advisor, Khalid al Mansour, to one of the Saudi Princes.
Obama and his administration have proved over and over that they know how to game the system. They will continue to ignore the people and push forward with their idea of a socialist utopia that exists only in drug induced dreams. It is time for all patriotic Americans to raise their voices and loudly reject any attempt by any elected official to ignore their oath of office and the Constitution.
Supreme Court Rules that Constitution Means What it Says

“Congress Shall Make No Law … Abridging the Freedom of Speech.”
Today, the United States Supreme Court handed down its opinion in Citizens United v. FCC, voting 5-4 to stand by the Constitution and protect our First Amendment right to free speech. Justice Kennedy, writing for the Court, said, “We find no basis for the proposition that, in the context of political speech, the Government may impose restrictions on certain disfavored speakers.”
Penny Young Nance, Concerned Women for America’s (CWA) Chief Executive Officer, said, “The Court correctly concluded that judges should stop playing semantics with our Constitution and read the text as it is written. The government should not be limiting political speech because someone is rich or poor, or because they disagree with a particular point of view. Americans are the real winners today. Further, I recall upon the passage of the legislation that Members of Congress openly admitted voting in favor of the McCain-Feingold knowing it was unconstitutional. Those days have to end.”

McCain Still Fighting for Vets – to Become Teachers

Michael Riley of the Denver Post is following a story on two U.S. Senators who would like to pass legislation that would pave the way for more military personnel to put their skills to use in the Nation’s classrooms:
Sens. John McCain and Michael Bennet want to put more battlefield veterans in classrooms as teachers, teaming up as a seasoned senator with military expertise and a freshman lawmaker who was superintendent of Denver Public Schools.
But in co-sponsoring a bipartisan bill known as Troops to Teachers, McCain, R-Ariz., is also handing Bennet, D-Colo., a potential campaign plum, an unusual move given McCain’s role recruiting GOP front- runner Jane Norton to race against the vulnerable Democratic appointee.
[...]
Although it provides financial assistance for veterans to train as teachers, the existing program has tougher qualification requirements and limits the number of schools that can participate.
The senators’ bill would increase the authorized funding from $30 million a year to $50 million. Another 1,150 schools would be eligible to participate just in Colorado, many of them in poor and underserved areas. It also would reduce from six to four the number of years of noncombat active duty someone must serve to be eligible…Continue reading McCain, Bennet on front line to turn vets into teachers >>

New York Times Says the Darnedest Things, Regarding ACORN, Van Jones, and so on and so forth

THE PUBLIC EDITOR
Tuning In Too Late
By CLARK HOYTPublished: September 26, 2009
ON Sept. 12, an Associated Press article inside The Times reported that the Census Bureau had severed its ties to Acorn, [sic, ACORN] the community organizing group. Robert Groves, the census director, was quoted as saying that Acorn, one of thousands of unpaid organizations promoting the 2010 census, had become “a distraction.”
What the article didn’t say — but what followers of Fox News and conservative commentators already knew — was that a video sting had caught Acorn workers counseling a bogus prostitute and pimp on how to set up a brothel staffed by under-age girls, avoid detection and cheat on taxes. The young woman in streetwalker’s clothes and her companion were actually undercover conservative activists with a hidden camera.
It was an intriguing story: employees of a controversial outfit, long criticized by Republicans as corrupt, appearing to engage in outrageous, if not illegal, behavior. An Acorn worker in Baltimore was shown telling the “prostitute” that she could describe herself to tax authorities as an “independent artist” and claim 15-year-old prostitutes, supposedly illegal immigrants, as dependents.
But for days, as more videos were posted and government authorities rushed to distance themselves from Acorn, The Times stood still. Its slow reflexes — closely following its slow response to a controversy that forced the resignation of Van Jones, a White House adviser — suggested that it has trouble dealing with stories arising from the polemical world of talk radio, cable television and partisan blogs. Some stories, lacking facts, never catch fire. But others do, and a newspaper like The Times needs to be alert to them or wind up looking clueless or, worse, partisan itself.
Some editors told me they were not immediately aware of the Acorn videos on Fox, YouTube and a new conservative Web site called BigGovernment.com. When the Senate voted to cut off all federal funds to Acorn, there was not a word in the newspaper, although a report in the Caucus blog that day covered the action. When the New York City Council froze all its funding for Acorn and the Brooklyn district attorney opened a criminal investigation, there was still nothing.
Readers noticed. James Jeff Crocket of New Britain, Conn., spoke for many when he said he was sure he knew why the paper was silent: “protecting the progressive movement.”
The piece goes on, tip-toeing an imaginary line between confession and denial, apology and excuse. This, particularly, brings a lasting smile:
Jill Abramson, the managing editor for news, agreed with me that the paper was “slow off the mark,” and blamed “insufficient tuned-in-ness to the issues that are dominating Fox News and talk radio.” She and Bill Keller, the executive editor, said last week that they would now assign an editor to monitor opinion media and brief them frequently on bubbling controversies. Keller declined to identify the editor, saying he wanted to spare that person “a bombardment of e-mails and excoriation in the blogosphere.”
Despite what the critics think, Abramson said the problem was not liberal bias.
Liberal bias? Naaaa. The solution to the not really bias? Let us see that again: “…assign an editor to monitor opinion media and brief them frequently on bubbling controversies.” The “controversies” of “opinion media?” Is that what you call journalism, from those pesky Americans who happen to believe government should abide by the Constitution, Mr. Hoyt? And, do you really purport, your comrades are so Old World that they fail to heed any particular kinds of new, er… “opinion media?”
Here is how it closes. (Still grinning and shaking my head, as fingers move on the keyboard.)
But Rosenstiel said The Times has a particular problem with conservatives, especially after its article last year suggesting that John McCain had an extramarital affair. And Republicans earlier this year charged that the paper killed a story about Acorn that would have been a “game changer” in the presidential election — a claim I found to be false.“If you know you are a target, it requires extra vigilance,” Rosenstiel said. “Even the suspicion of a bias is a problem all by itself.”
The public editor can be reached by e-mail: public@nytimes.com.
Do you really think he is reachable? Look up! Take my hand, Clark! What are you trying to say, Mr. Hoyt? Hint: what were you just trying not to say?
Here is one email, to the public editor:
Come out from that closet,
Before the door closes,
And brings more pain,
To your reporters’ toeses.Escape “the polemic world…
…of” which your noses,
Snort up all their lines,
from the Daily Kozes.
Okay, maybe not straight from Daily Koz, all the time; call it poetic license. And, if you read this as you begin your day, Clark, I don’t mean to distract you too much, during the morning conference call with Pravda John Podesta.

My Thoughts On The Republican Insiders’ Attacks On Sarah Palin

SNOBS!!!
These elitist ‘conservatives’ give real conservatives, and the GOP a bad name! They continue to gain ‘expertise’ in costing us elections against the communist Democrats. Their absolute reluctance in getting behind the momentum of Sarah ‘Barracuda’ Palin, the main reason we won so many seats locally, proves the point.
Yes, we should support these beltway insider SNOBS who supported McCain’s efforts to repeatedly make the point that Obama was right. Oh yes! PLEASE show us all how to lose more elections!!!
When compared to the current ‘ruling class”, Palin’s supposed faults are trivial. What is most relevant is their attacks reflect everything that is wrong with these SNOBS. Their claims to be conservatives continue to fall
on deafened ears.
Where are the commentaries on the GOP’s menopausal wing? Certainly the motivations of the likes of Peggy Noonan deserves a much closer examination. Is she afraid of the competition that Sarah gives the supposed conservative women, or is it that Noonan recognises that she herself isn’t up to the caliber of this most appreciated woman?
Having worked at the grass roots level, I am grateful for the efforts of Sarah Palin. Her monumental success at getting the republican base excited in the last election did more to get real conservatives elected than did
the rest of these lousy snobbish beltway insiders.
These Republican Party hacks had better learn that Palin’s success or failure will ultimately be their own. If real Republicans actually want to win [what a nice change that would be!]in 2010, 2012, and beyond, they had
better start by realizing what it is that makes Sarah Palin the lone inspirational conservative politician that the GOP so desperately needs.

Should Notre Dame Lose “Catholic” Status?
May 18, 2009 by FaultlineUSA
Take the poll in the right side bar at Faultline USA. Five days left on the poll. So far 72% of 100 polled say YES.
Despite the fact that Notre Dame University has a long tradition of extending graduation speaking invitations to sitting American Presidents, this invitation to President Obama is not about Obama, but about Notre Dame. The real issue is about what it means to be a “Catholic” University.
President Obama’s speech Sunday to the 2009 graduating class of Notre Dame, and his award of an honorary degree, is a slap in the face of Roman Catholicism because of his strong outspoken pro-choice abortion beliefs and his support for federal funding of stem-cell research.
America, You Asked For It!, explains the dilemma this way:
The problem, of course, stems from Notre Dame’s Catholic roots and Obama’s position on the sanctity of human life in its embryonic stage. The Catholic Church “has always condemned abortion as a grave evil” and condemns stem cell research on the basis that “It is immoral to produce human embryos destined to be exploited as disposable ‘biological material.” These views are polar opposites of the President’s positions on abortion and stem cell research.
Moral Outcry explains it this way:
This is a travesty for a Catholic institution to be honoring the man behind some of the most liberal, pro-abortion agendas this nation has ever seen. In the spirit of intellectual openness, the powers-that-be have seen fit to acquiesce to the status quo of the pro-abortion agenda that’s steamrolling through the government right now.
It would appear that money, power, status, and untold legal entanglements would make it very, very difficult for the Catholic Church to punish Notre Dame for this affront to the churches’ basic teachings.
According to LifeSiteNews.com, “Fr. John Jenkins, President of Notre Dame University, sits on the board of directors of Millennium Promise, an organization dedicated to fighting poverty in Africa that promotes contraceptives and abortion, it has been revealed.”
The finding comes as the controversy over President Obama’s award and speech at the University reaches a fever pitch in the last week before the event. As the president of Notre Dame, Fr. Jenkins has received the majority of the heat for the scandal. However, despite the criticism of over 70 U.S. bishops and over 350,000 petitioners, Jenkins has steadfastly continued to defend the university’s honoring of the president. In a letter to graduating students dated this past Monday, Jenkins said that Obama is “a remarkable figure in American history and I look forward to welcoming him to Notre Dame.”
According to UPI, “Bishop John D’Arcy, who oversees the region’s diocese, said he would not attend Sunday’s ceremony.”
President Obama has recently reaffirmed, and has now placed in public policy, his long-stated unwillingness to hold human life as sacred,” D’Arcy said in a statement.
The latest Gallop poll shows that for the first time, more Americans see themselves as pro-life rather than pro-choice. Still I have to wonder what this really means in terms of walking the walk of faith?
Despite the fact that Fox news has been featuring this story for weeks, the actual fact that only hundreds of pro-life activist Catholics from across the country plan to attend a peaceful protest in South Bend, Ind. is a sign that belief in pro-life appears to be more virtual than real.
Pro-Life Action League members also will begin their civil disobedience effort off-campus and then join the Citizens for a Pro-Life Society at the prayer vigil on campus to coincide with the commencement ceremony. Additional arrests are possible, if not expected.
“We’re going have graphic pictures of abortion and what abortion does to babies and we’ll also have signs that will say ‘Obama = Abortion’ and ‘Shame on Notre Dame,’” Gura said.
Citizens for a Pro-Life Society will be carrying signs ranging from the “very graphic to very simple,” Parran told FOXNews.com.
According to ABC News, “Obama won the Catholic vote in last year’s election, 54-45 over Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. Twenty-seven percent of voters identified themselves as Catholic, according to national exit polling.”
Note to the Pope, Cardinals, and Bishops: There are some Catholics, however, that understand the actual cost of walking the walk of their faith.
This year, for the first time in more than 100 years, Notre Dame will not present its most prestigious award, the Laetare Medal, because the Catholic scholar who won it, Mary Ann Glendon, turned it down.

Attack Occurred 9/11 [?] – Manufactured Catastrophe: The Cat is Out of the Bag in the MarxoFascist War on Our American Freedom & Personal Livelihoods

Update, 2/14: THIS ATTACK UPON OUR ECONOMY OCCURRED ON 9/11/2008[?]
That [seems to be the case] according to Rep. Kanjorski of Pennsylvania (D); see video below.
I.O. had written below, “This is WAR UPON AMERICA, much more threatening than 9/11.What are we going to do about it?” We now have a kind of correction to make: This WAS 9/11 [according to one reasonable analysis] Comment to this article:

Please listen to the video closely. Kanjorski states that there was a closed meeting of Congress on about the 15th of September. This would be a MONDAY. Then he lets it slip out that the financial meltdown occurred on a Thursday… of the previous week. This would be THURSDAY – SEPT. 11
Yes, a FINANCIAL TERRORIST ATTACK occurred on Thursday, September 11, 2008, the seventh anniversary of 9/11. And no one is telling us
about it!God help us!
February 14, 2009 6:16 AM
To this, I will add, as reported yesterday in I.O.:
“We have a once in a generation chance to act boldly, to turn adversity into
opportunity, and use this crisis as a chance to transform our economy for the 21st century.”- Barack Hussein Obama, 2/12/2009, according to email from grassfire.org
God help us, indeed. This outrageously unreported story will be discussed further on live net-radio this Monday, 2/16, 8pm ET,,, 5pm PT on “The Awakening, with Hanen & Arlen.”
It’s been published on other site(s) with my blessing [an email I sent, as below, slightly edited] and I hear it may be on its way to Sen. John McCain. Does he care? Feel free to spread it everywhere, too. I suggest that everyone who cares about America email this information, about the Kanjorski confession — to everyone who has an email address that he has or finds, everywhere in the world. Also, faxed, mailed, and otherwise shoved before the faces of everyone within reach.

Obama’s Kenyan Birth Evidence to be Revealed…Final Update
December 31, 2008 by Arlen Williams
Update 1/1/2009, 3:36am CT - In his 7:45pm Plains Radio broadcast, this last night, Ed Hale backed down from his prior assertion of having gained even uncertain information about the Barack Sr. / Stanley Ann divorce decree containing language referring to Barack Jr. as being born in Kenya. Instead, Hale referred to an apparently tricky recollection… of an indeterminate person… referring to such a document’s generally referring to the place of birth of the children of the divorced parents. That is not what I heard from Mr. Hale on the 31st.
Two people reported during the broadcast that they had contacted Hale’s private investigator yesterday, who indicated he did not thoroughly read the documentation and does not know how it addresses Barack Obama Jr. — nor did he make a copy for himself. It would appear that Hale will receive a valid copy of this decree, probably Friday, 1/2. What it states will be what it states. He promises to post and report, as described below.
While my article maintains a journalistic separation from the principals of this story and is a report of statements of others on the matter, I believed it worthy of “pushing out” to readers and those who would faithfully relay the story. That worth appears less merited at this point and I apologize for that, to them and you. However, this should mean the first public viewing of that divorce decree. If it does not include information pertinent to Barack Obama’s birth, at least that will be known. And that is more than may be said of President Elect Obama’s actual birth certificate. This also seems fitting for a politco who advanced to the U.S. Senate along a path of the convenient “mainstream media” reporting of scandals from two of his opponents’ own divorce records and an “outing” of a family member of another; sauce for the goose.
I.O. emphasizes that place of birth aside, Barack Obama is clearly and thoroughly not a natural born Citizen and is therefore specifically ineligible to be our United States President. This is due to his U.K. citizenship at birth, passed from his father. That is referred to below and explained in the article, “The Donofrio ‘Natural Born Citizen’ Challenge.”
I.O. also observes that even a valid hard copy of the kind of certificate of birth that Obama has ostensibly submitted is not the kind of birth certificate which is required for numerous purposes. Further, it is suspect that Obama has invested what some say is approximately $1M to keep his actual, Hawaiian birth certificate undisclosed — seemingly thematic with “pleading the Fifth.” At the very least, it would officially document his father and that is one wheel off his bike to the White House.
<<<<<<<<<<<<> I.O.<>>>>>>>>>>>>
A private investigator in Hawaii has uncovered the divorce decree for Barack Obama’s father and mother, which indicates they had “one child under the age of eighteen, born in Kenya.” That is the report of Ed Hale of PlainsRadio.com, an Internet radio site which has focused upon the natural born Citizen challenges to Obama’s presidential eligibility.
Hale announced this during his evening Internet broadcast on PlainsRadio.com, Tuesday, 12/30 and confirmed it with I.O. in an online interview, later that night. He reported that certified copies of this documentation have been sent from Hawaii by the investigator to himself and four others. Hale is to receive his copy today, Wednesday, 12/31 and plans to post it graphically on the site, during the day. He will also discuss this on a special Internet broadcast, between 6pm and 10pm Central Time, tonight. [I.O., 12/31, 2:30pm CT: Ed Hale has sent an email stating that his delivery has been delayed until Friday, 1/2. We wait another day for what he has to show. We can be patient in light of how long we wait for Barack Obama to admit the truth of his ineligibility per Article II (and show us the whole truth of his actual Hawaiian birth certificate, besides).] The site streams audio as soon as it is accessed via Web browser.
The Texan Internet entrepreneur relates he got fed up with the lack of documentation on Obama and decided to discuss ideas with his radio audience. His offer to hire an investigator was met with piecemeal sums of money from listeners to his broadcasts. Hale said some of the information one would expect to find was not available. For example, documentation from Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann’s divorce to her second husband, Lolo Soetoro had vanished. Hale speculates, the reason this forthcoming 1964 divorce decree had not also been “scrubbed” could be that the divorce had been filed not by Obama’s mother, but by Barack H. Obama, Sr. Thus, it may have been overlooked by any plumbers for Obama.
Hale does admit to incomplete certainty of his investigator’s work until he receives it, partially due to the PI’s accent, the telephone connection, and his slight hearing impediment. However, he is very confident of what he will receive during the day. Mark S. McGrew, who writes about Obama’s natural born Citizen problems for Pravda.ru, accompanied Hale in his broadcast and also expressed confidence. McGrew had sought publication in numerous American news outlets, but they turned down his articles referring to Obama’s apparent ineligibility. Russia’s Pravda however, decided his effort to find and report the truth was not to be redlined.
As often related, Barack Obama, due simply to his U.K. citizenship at birth via his Kenyan father, is not a natural born Citizen of America, by definition and the original intent of that term. The Supreme Court has turned down cases which make this point, but according to a September decision in a lower federal court (regarding John McCain’s eligibility problem) this would be due to a question of jurisdiction, until Congress is to certify the Electoral College vote on January 8. Further action is to occur, after this date. You may read about this in previous I.O. articles and the sites linked in its sidebar.
Meanwhile, on the question of Obama’s place of birth, professionals dealing with documents and forensic evidence have testified that the online “certificate of live birth” provided by Obama is not identifiable evidence of American birth. Now, if Obama’s parents’ divorce decree states that he was born in Kenya (as his Kenyan grandmother has repeatedly stated) the second epistemological wheel is coming off his vehicle to the White House.
Will Congress pay attention and do its Constitutional duty?
