Obama’s Foreign Affairs Naiveté

By now I would hope that everyone knows the Obamarama has bought $5 million worth of ads to be shown during the Olympics. The bad news is that now the McCain campaign has also.

What most people aren’t aware of and what the mainstream media isn’t telling you is just exactly what kinds of things are in store for people attending the Olympics.

While stationed in the Far East I often laughed at the stilted choreography of some Asian television shows. It was stiff and robot-like, it lacked spirit. Now the Chinese Government is preparing to put on it’s best of many faces by training student attendees to the Olympics in how to cheer. As one of students who gave his name as Xiao Shang, said: “I am always amazed at the government’s ability to take the fun out of anything. Incredible.”

Seven thousand classrooms.

Uncle, why did our school collapse? Why???”

“Seven thousand classrooms”, that’s what I heard on the radio. And I couldn’t stop thinking about it and they all collapsed at the same time, on thousands of children and teachers. All that noise, screaming, terror, blood, dust and a head jarring awfulness that is beyond belief. All those lovely ordinary people gone, thousands injured and millions left to grieve. There is no social welfare in China and without a family; many of these people will be on their own.

Looking through the many stark, terrible photos and endless throat catching stories is disturbing and reflective, to put it mildly. There is the Mother who covered her child from the collapse with her body and left a simple text message on her phone saying “My little darling, I will always love you”.

Or the twenty-six year old female teacher’s assistant who kept on returning to drag and carry children out until she was eventually crushed. The people wailing over insulted bodies in the street. There are millions of these greatly moving and profound stories…Continue reading on Colonel Robert Neville always Dresses for Dinner >>

Congress May Vote on Global Online Freedom Act Before Beijing Olympics

Remember when Yahoo was sued by a human rights organization for turning over copies of e-mails from 2004 which resulted in the imprisonment and torture of Chinese dissidents? (See here, here, and here.)

The following is a press release from Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), who authored H.R. 275, the Global Online Freedom Act:

U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), a senior Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee met this week with Robert Menard, founder of the leading human rights group Reporter’s Without Borders redoubling their lobbying efforts to move Smith’s bill, the Global Online Freedom Act (HR 275) to the House floor for a vote ahead of the Beijing Olympics this summer.

“Yesterday, China announced that the number of Internet users in their country has now matched the number of users in the US. What they do not tell you, though, is that users in China are blocked from many sites especially those that talk about fundamental freedoms and democracy. Additionally, Chinese citizens who courageously find a way to use the internet to promote democracy are often harassed and/or imprisoned,” said Smith whose bill was approved by the Foreign Affairs Committee late last year.

Wichita Public Schools: Open Records Requests Are a Burden

recently learned that USD 259 (the Wichita, Kansas public school district) considers it a burden when citizens make requests for records. At least that’s what Lynn Rogers, vice-president of the board of USD 259, told me at a May 12, 2008 meeting when I was invited to express concerns regarding my opposition to the proposed 2008 bond issue. I suspect the other board members and administration officials agree with him….(Wichita Liberty)

New Study: Conservatives are Happier Because They Hate Everyone

There is a news report starting to make the rounds amongst the MSM on a study that claims to have discovered why conservatives tend to be happier than liberals and it is just the sort of bilge that the MSM loves to promulgate. The Democratic Primary: Time for Buyer’s Remorse?

From the Democrat perspective, the 2008 Presidential Election seemed strong proof for the theories of Leibniz — early on the 2008 political climate really did seem the “best of all possible worlds.” The Republican brand was shot, the war was unpopular, the economy was tanking, and George Bush was an enormous millstone for Republicans. Communism Officially Takes over the Internet

April 22, 2008 by Jenn Sierra

Western Conservatives have been warning that socio-politcal movements such as the leftism, socialism, and leftist-islamism have been increasing their power online, partly by sheer volume.

USA Today reported yesterday, “China Vaults Past USA in Internet Users“:

The number of Chinese on the Internet hit more than 220 million as of February, according to estimates from official Chinese statistics by the Beijing-based research group BDA China….there is strong government backing for companies such as China Netcom, which offers broadband service at $10 a month…(more)

The United States previously had more internet users than any other country online, and now communist China, at least according to its own calculations, holds that honor. PC Advisor:

China seems set to consolidate its global position, despite complaints of human rights violations and widespread internet censorship in the country. China’s population numbers 1.3 billion people, just 17 percent of which have access to the internet [compared to 71% in the U.S.].

We know these Chinese internet users aren’t watching YouTube, right? So what are they doing? The USA Today report cites internet communications and gaming. That’s not the only thing that’s going on online, however. In March, FHK’s TXPoet wrote:

Chinese “hackers” have broken into U.S.-based, German-based and several other other country’s computer networks in attempts to: steal national security information, steal economic data, steal trade secrets and perform denial of service (DNS) attacks. This is not new nor is it news to those in the Government but it seems to be to the general public. Read more

YouTube Banned in China – Are we Ready to Admit there’s a War going on Yet?

March 17, 2008 by Jenn Sierra

China has blocked the user-driven content site, YouTube after YouTubers began posting videos of the weekend’s protests in Tibet.

According to Bloomberg:

The government is also censoring Web sites with references to Tibet, and Tibetan Internet cafes have been closed, the newspaper said, citing a Tibetan journalist the Telegraph said wanted to be identified as Lhuboom.

This morning, TXPoet wrote about the cyberwar that China has launched on the West, creatively hacking to “steal national security information, steal economic data, steal trade secrets and perform denial of service (DNS) attacks. (more).”

At what point do we admit we are at (cyber)war? Considering that having 3,000 of our people killed by Jihadists was not enough for the liberals in our nation to admit that we were in a war with Islam…it is unlikely that any loss of freedom online will bring about any such admission on the liberal-dominated internet. But their ignorance is not our bliss.

China, Friend or Foe?

March 17, 2008 by TXPoet

By now I hope most of you have read the latest information on computer electronics imported from China with pre-installed viruses and Trojan-horses (programs designed to steal your personal information and transmit it back to China). Some of you have also probably read the Chinese government’s explanation for this in which they claim it is simply a small group of malcontents. In case you missed the latest installment of the Chinese war, you can read it here.

Yes I used the word “WAR”, because that is what we are in. The U.S. brought down the U.S.S.R. by financially bankrupting them over the Berlin Wall and the Chinese took note and are trying to do the same now to America. In previous articles I have tried to show the long range planning of the Chinese government. Based on the lack of comments I don’t think the message got across. Read more

If They Did It…This is how China Would Attack the United States

Did you know that China already has a plan ready in case they decide to attack the United States? They do, and it’s one of the resources they use to train their soldiers.

…from the AirForceTimes:

This strategic outlook isn’t hidden in secret Chinese documents. It’s printed in China’s military journals and textbooks. And for much of last year, Mandarin literates and defense experts — working for the Santa Monica, Calif.-based Rand Corp. on an Air Force contract — combed through a range of Chinese military sources. Naval Superiority: China did more than just inconvenience U.S. sailors on a port visit two months ago. It forced a naval confrontation that could have gotten ugly. As the People’s Republic puts to sea, it may yet.

Last year, the Kitty Hawk carrier battle group hoped to pass the Thanksgiving holiday in Hong Kong as it did in prior years. Families of the crew had journeyed to Hong Kong to spend the holiday with their sons and daughters only to be disappointed when the ship was turned away for unexplained reasons. Read more

Clinton’s Campaign Contributors-Take 2

October 19, 2007 by Jenn Sierra

…from James Richardson of the RNC eCampaign

In 2004 John Kerry only raised $24,000 in the general election in New York’s Chinatown, while Hillary managed to raise $380,000 at a single event. Sounds amazing – more like fishy. Only 24 of Hillary’s 74 Chinatown donors could be reached for comment on their donation.

Even more interesting is the reason for many of their donations as “many said they gave to Clinton because they were instructed to do so by local association leaders. Some said they wanted help on immigration concerns. And several spoke of the pride they felt by being associated with a powerful figure such as Clinton.” (LA Times “An unlikely treasure-trove of donors for Clinton”)

It seems even without Hsu, Hillary’s campaign is still making amazing headway in pressuring donors to give to her campaign of “change.” Oddly enough, many of the donors who provided large funds via checks can not be found through property records and according to public records are even registered to vote.

According to the financial records submitted, many of these donors held jobs as chefs, servers, or dishwashers, clearly making it difficult to give donations ranging from $500 to $2,300. The 2000 Census reported the average annual income was less than $21,000. The question begs to ask, how can so much money come piling in from residents below the poverty line, who regularly find it difficult to merely provide for their families?

The Clinton campaign alleged Yi Min Liu had made a donation of $1,000 however he said he only attended a banquet but made no donation. Countless Clinton campaign donors can not legally give money to her campaign under federal election law.

Given Hillary’s track history with Hsu, I suppose we can not expect anything better. First Hillary tricks donors with Hsu’s underhanded fundraising techniques, and then she decided to bribe voters with $5,000 a child, and now her campaign organizers are pressuring poverty line voters to give substantial donations – sounds like a real candidate of the people.
