Not exactly what you picture as a “conservative,” he has been there, and lived to tell about it. He has been a self-employed auto mechanic, a soldier, a bodyguard, a policeman, an investigator, a technician, a cook, a cowboy, a ranch hand and a drunk. A Vietnam era veteran who has literally been around the world.
Now retired from 32 years of service with the US Government, he spends his days writing in his “cave” with his two dogs and chatting with friends from around the world via the Internet. He has been described as a longhaired, redneck Indian cowboy biker. He is currently working on creating his second novel.
Ghost Ranger, my first novel is available for purchase at Lulu.com
A young man’s need for respect and his search for love enables him to be coerced into becoming an undercover cop. Follow this man to see how others see him and try to understand why the job he becomes obsessed with and his quest for love, tear him apart as he grows old.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy reading it!
Edwards: Running out of Rhetoric, Turning up the Twang

James Richardson of the RNC eCampaign.
Now I’m a Southern guy, so I can appreciate a southern accent — but does that constitute electability? If so, I may have a future in presidential politics (so long as Senator Clinton doesn’t find my Kindergarten journal and coloring book). Am I the only one who thinks the ultimate sign of desperation on the campaign trail is the necessity to resort to one’s accent? At recent town hall events, namely in New Hampshire and Iowa, Democrat Presidential candidate John Edwards is attempting to garner supporters, donations, and caucus goers because he said “The last two Democratic presidents, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, both talk like me.†It seems to me like this tactic is about as useful as a pogo-stick in quicksand. What ever happened to meaningful debates and substance
More below the fold.
Let’s review the playbook for the Democrat Presidential candidates (they’re all using the same one; I think they just give them away at MoveOn rallies) Step 1 — Blame Bush; Step 2 — Blame Bush; Step 3 — Shake things up and blame Cheney; Step 4 — “Accidentally†list endorsements who aren’t endorsing you (This one’s for you Senator Obama); Step 5 — Claim originality; Step 6 — Whip out that Southern twang (Yes, I’m talking to you too, Senator Clinton).
Oh, and John Edwards may â€Âsound†like Presidents Clinton and Carter, but I wonder if they get $300 haircuts too?
If Senator Edwards continues on this track I expect to see his next campaign video featuring tunes from “Gone with the Wind.â€Â

Communist China Says Merry Christmas, but Capitalist Google Won’t
Warner Todd Huston:
Well, here is a sad commentary on the fellow travelers over at Internet mega-corp, Google. Their Christmas graphic eschews that evil “Ch_ _ stmas†word giving us a bow and candy cane, instead. Apparently, Google doesn’t want to cause any outrage by using the words “Merry Christmas.†(more info and screenprints, here)

FHK SitRep 12.02.07: Are you Drunk on Your Own Words?
December 2, 2007 by admin

John Morrow:
Tell me if this sounds familiar.
You sit down in the computer for a few minutes, hoping to whip up a quick blog post. Then an idea hits you. It’s vague at first, but it has a certain sparkle of possibility. You start constructing a post, becoming more convinced with every word that you’re onto something.
The feeling grows and grows until your fingers are flying across the keyboard. The words are flowing, and you’re saying exactly what you want to say, exactly the way you want to say it. You bring the post to a close with an ending that you can only describe as, “Perfect,†and then pause to read what you’ve written.
A smile spreads across your face. It’s clever, original… brilliant. You only hesitate for a second before posting it to your blog. “I can’t wait to see what they say about that,†you think. You walk away from the computer, sure you’ve written a masterpiece.
A couple of hours pass and you come back to reread your post. As you scan through it, you feel a weight in the pit of your stomach. This post isn’t brilliant. It’s arrogant, disconnected, and desperate for attention.
“What was I thinking?†you ask yourself. And I’ll tell you: you weren’t thinking. You were drunk on your own words….”
Do you think what you’ve just written is brilliant? hillarious? You may be drunk on your own words. To read more warning signs, and find out how to avoid drunk posting, read 7 Warning Signs That You’re Drunk on Your Own Words on Copyblogger.
