Pamela Geller has the headline of the day over at Atlas Shrugs: American Woman Took Down Jihadi Hasan at Fort Hood.
In addition to the “says-it-all” headline, Pamela also has more info on hero M.P. Kim Munley who shot and disabled the shooter in this week’s massacre at Fort Hood in Texas, including this great photo of her with country singer Dierks Bentley, and Kim’s online bio.
Maggie Thornton also has a ton of great coverage on this incident and the jihadi killer on Maggie’s Notebook (see the U.S. Army category). Be sure to check it out.
So, now that Randy Brogdon’s running for Gov., who’s running for his seat?

I had a chance to speak this afternoon with Tim Coager, a Republican who is running for the Oklahoma State Senate seat being vacated by Randy Brogdon, also a Republican, who is running for Oklahoma Governor. Brogdon’s shoes will be hard to fill, but this 14 year Marine Veteran feels he’s up to the job. Coager is currently a refining engineer, and according to his website is a “strong social and fiscal conservative.” More from his website:
Tim has been active in church and community affairs for many years and has demonstrated his commitment to public service through his extensive civic involvement.
Tim’s conservative values are rooted in his Christian faith, the values he was taught in the U.S. Marine Corps, and his love for family and country. Tim believes in personal responsibility and hard work. He is uncompromisingly pro-life and is a passionate defender of our second amendment right to keep and bear arms. He is strongly committed to reducing the size of government by returning tenth amendment rights to the states. Tim believes our personal liberty and freedoms are conferred by God and not by the government.

Say What?! Obama frustrated that the Democrats are independent thinkers, while Republicans just do what they’re told.

In the “Did he really say that,” category today, we have this incredible quote from The POTUS and his TOTUS:
Sometimes Democrats can be their own worst enemies. Democrats are an opinionated bunch. You know the other side, they just kind of do what they’re told. Democrats, ya’ll thinkin’ for yourselves. I like that in you, but it’s time for us to make sure that we finish the job here, we are this close and we’ve got to be unified.
First of all, that’s a lousy Southern accent (Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs agrees). Secondly, is it just me, or does this sound like something plagiarized from one of any number of conservative blogs, then turned around to mean the opposite of its original meaning?

When I was growing up, we called this, ‘fun.’

Here’s a video of a family who drenched a bunch of kids who were standing on the side of the road asking to be drenched. The video ended up on YouTube, and now the driver is facing charges in the UK. When I was growing up, we called this “fun.” Now, it could you a fine of £2,500 (about $3,500) in England.

What Happened to Jenn Sierra on Facebook?

(Updated 10/18/09)
Greetings, fellow WebWarriors!
This is just a quick update on that Facebook database problem that I wrote about earlier in the week.
Facebook claims the problem has been fixed, but the problems with my account are continuing. I’m having a very difficult time accessing my account, my friends list, my pages, my groups, and my FB e-mails. It’s obvious there’s an attack of some sort going on – I don’t believe I’m the target of the attack, but instead that my account is being used somehow. I also don’t believe it’s because of my conservative activism, per se, but instead I believe it’s related to my support for the JIDF on the web and on Facebook.
I can’t get a response from Facebook on this after NUMEROUS tries, and I’m not comfortable with not understanding what is happening to the account – I have no way of knowing if the account is secure, and whether or not my friends’ accounts are being affected by this. So, I have deactivated the “Jenn Sierra” user ID for now.
Ft. Hard Knox is still going strong, and the FHK Facebook Group will not be affected by this. We have several great administrators who will continue to keep this going, and I’m still working in and supporting the group – just “from behind the scenes.”
-Jenn
P.S. – Several people have asked for more details on exactly what is happening to my account, to see if their own experiences are similar. Basically when I’m logged in, my account is acting the same way home computers act when the modem has been hijacked…like the account has a “mind of its own.” It works sporadically, but simply accessing any page (or the account itself) usually takes several tries. Plus, my entire friends list (of nearly 3,000 people) keeps disappearing.

Obama Admits He Wants the Entire Country to be Like the South Side of Chicago

I got lost on the south side of Chicago once. It was an experience I’ll never forget, and I don’t mean that in a good way. Considering that people who live in and love Chicago generally try to avoid going to the south side of their own city, I find it a little creepy that our current President was caught on tape boasting at an SEIU event during the campaign season last year about all that he had accomplished there, and proclaiming that, “…Now the time has come…to do it all across this country…?!” Listen for yourself:

Progressivism in a nutshell: Whoopi explains statutory rape of a drugged 13-yr old isn’t the same as RAPE-rape. (What?!)
September 29, 2009 by Jenn Sierra
Filed under California, For Your Entertainment
I don’t watch The View, and haven’t for years. The only time I see clips of it is when the “ladies” say something so asinine that the media or another blogger reports on it. This is one of those times. Hat-tip to Ed Morrissey on HotAir for this unbelievable reflection of our modern society.
Just for the record, I do understand the difference between “statutory rape” and “rape-rape.” A good (hypothetical) example of a time when “statutory rape” might be handled differently than “rape-rape” would be when an 18-year old boy gets caught in a parked car with his 17-year old girlfriend, who is obviously not being coerced into anything she didn’t want to do. Is this illegal? Yes. Is it wrong? Yes. Should he go to prison for the rest of his life? Her parents might think so, but this situation is clearly different from the one we’re dealing with in the Roman Polanski situation.
In this clip, Whoopi Goldberg explains that “the world” doesn’t view what Roman Polanski did as rape-rape. I’m thankful to be living in a country that still recognizes that a grown man drugging a 13-yr old girl and sodomizing her is “rape,” and should be punished as such.
