Axelrod on FNS.

I happened to be listening to Fox News Sunday on the way to the store, and it struck me that David Axelrod was so open that they had basically admited that the Nut Roots weren’t setting the President-Elect’s agenda.

WALLACE:Mr. Axelrod, a lot of voices in the left wing of your party are saying this is not the kind of change that they thought they were going to get.

AXELROD: Well, let me make something clear, Chris. There’s one person who’s going to set policy in this administration, and that’s the president of the United States. That’s true on the economy. It’s true in foreign policy.

SHOCKING!!! The far Left Nut Roots got him elected, and like Rev Wright, Bill Ayers, and others, they are getting tossed into the “used” bin. Congrats, Chuckleheads!

A Post Racial America?

November 6, 2008 by Zap Brannigan

Its been all of 2 days since President Elect Obama won the election, an action that was supposed to be the start of a new era in race relations in America. If this is true, why is it all that I hear is: “Well…its just a beginning…it doesn’t make up for it all. RACISM is NOT over!” I have listened to various talk shows over the past couple of days now, and I either hear the previous sentiment, or I hear a smug rub-it-in-the-white-mans-face attitude. Isn’t this exactly the opposite of what President Elect Obama’s message was, one of unity and progressiveness?

Let me explain where I am personally at this time. McCain was my lesser of two evils candidate. I had hoped for a stronger Conservative candidate, but what I got was McCain. I opposed President Elect Obama due to his politics, not his skin color. I truly believe that at least 80% of the voters who opposed him did so for the same reason. I am now saddened to see the post election attitudes of many black people. I am hearing VERY little love and unity. I am hearing a lot of smugness, and vindictiveness. Perhaps that will change after things have settled down.

Patrice Oneal on John Gibson’s show was especially typified this attitude, “…even the white people that voted for him (Obama)…you don’t get to just be exonerated for your …covertness..and your dishonesty…about racism.” In other words, even you white Obama voters are racist and you don’t even know it.

Talk about bitter-clingers. A lot of black folks seem to be bitterly clinging to their feelings of racist oppression even into the new post-racial world. As I was typing this blog entry, a friend of mine sent me this link. There’s some nice post-racial sentiment there.

Let me tell you something, my dark skinned brothers and sisters: I love you. Always have. If anyone is feeling unloved in the post-racial era we are stepping into, its me. But its cool, I’ll endure. I’ll overcome. Give him a few years and I think we will all see he is just as likely to botch a thing or two as W. was, or President Clinton.

For the record, I opposed Senator Obama on a basis of politics, not race. His views are not mine.

Hope…Change…well, sometime in the future I guess. Let me know when its here.

Obama’s Civilian Security Force – The Sturm Obamung?

The Sturm Obamung?

I really am getting creeped out by this guy. And beyond the whole “kids singing songs about how hes going to “change it…and re-arrange it…” there’s now this whole thing about a national civilian security force.

In Munich in late 1920, Hitler created the Ordnertruppen, a body of ex-soldiers and beer hall brawlers in order to protect gatherings of the Nazi party from disruptions from Social Democrats and Communists.

In the year 2070 are we going to read history books about the Sturm Obamung “protecting Democrat Party gatherings from disruption by the Conservatives and Christians”?

I encourage all of you who read this to pick up a history book, or even a wiki, and read up on the civilian security force that existed in 1920-30’s Germany, the Sturm Abteilung.

One of my favorite lines from the wiki page for the SA -

After Hitler took power in 1933, the SA became increasingly eager for power and saw themselves as the replacement for the German army. This angered the regular army (Reichswehr) who already resented the Nazi party. It also led to tension with other leaders within the party who saw Röhm’s increasingly powerful SA as a threat to their own personal ambitions. Originally an adjunct to the SA, the Schutzstaffel (SS) was placed under the direct control of Heinrich Himmler in part to restrict the power of the SA and their leaders.

Even if you think I am a bit alarmist about a Sturm Obamung, ask youself if you want an armed and empowered group of individuals of the type that Obama draws to him running around your city, righting “wrongs”. What would their mandate be? Would they take oaths to protect and defend the Constitution, or the President himself? Who would make up this force, a bunch of “Recreate 68″ types? Because thats just the type that ended up manning the SA, folks. Rowdys that basically wanted to create chaos for its own sake.

Each state already has a civilian defense force, its called the National Guard. Each city already has a police department. Ask yourself what is the Sturm Obamungs purpose?

There go those wonderful Dems, looking out for us regular folks.

Well, it seems that in order to protect “working families” and the like, the Democrats have decided that they must now start taxing 401ks. According to Workforce.com, House Democrats Contemplate Abolishing 401(k) Tax Breaks, some House Democrats are looking to pass a bill to remove the tax breaks of your 401k plan. Is this how the Democrats help us? No, this is more spreading of the wealth. And what is more scary, they would like it to be mandatory:

“A plan by Teresa Ghilarducci, professor of economic-policy analysis at the New School for Social Research in New York, contains elements that are being considered. She testified last week before Miller’s Education and Labor Committee on her proposal.

“Under Ghilarducci’s plan, all workers would receive a $600 annual inflation-adjusted subsidy from the U.S. government but would be required to invest 5 percent of their pay into a guaranteed retirement account administered by the Social Security Administration.

” ‘I want to stop the federal subsidy of 401(k)s,’ Ghilarducci said in an interview. ‘401(k)s can continue to exist, but they won’t have the benefit of the subsidy of the tax break.’ “

Newsflash Mrs. Ghilarducci – a subsidy is when YOU actually put money IN to a program. When you take it OUT, as you plan to do, its called ME subsidizing YOU. And haven’t I seen the Social Security Administration ALREADY taking my money, money that I will probably only see a fraction of return on? This is sickening, and it has to be stopped. Call your representative and tell them to vote this down if it ever comes to one.

Palin Email Intrusion Investigation Moves Forward

September 22, 2008 by Zap Brannigan

According to Fox News, warrants have been served in the Governor Palin / Yahoo! Email breakin. As I wrote previously, the person of interest is one David Kernell, a student at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Kernell is the son of Mike Kernell, a Democratic state representative in Tennessee. Per Fox News “A witness told the station they took photos inside Kernell’s apartment and that his three roommates were subpoenaed to testify this week in Chattanooga.”

Also of particular interest to me is that the perportrator used a service called CTunnel.com while committing this crime. For those who don’t know, such a service is a way of “hiding” where the network traffic is coming from, by proxying the connection. What I find interesting however is that I dont recall such a service actually aiding in the investigation of such a crime. The CTunnel.com owner Gabriel Ramuglia is cooperating with authorities, of his own volition it seems.

My point is that some people seem to think that if they just take a step or two to hide their electronic footprints, it’s not necesarily going to make them invisible. There is always a trail when it comes to the Internet. For better or worse, your actions online are tracked *somewhere*, even if you take steps to obfuscate your actions. CTunnel, for example, kept logs of the traffic it was proxying…and is now apparently handing them over to the Feds.

Palin Email Intruder’s Father – Democratic Rep in Tennessee

September 18, 2008 by Zap Brannigan

According to an article at Wired.com

“Threat Level was unable to reach the student by phone because his number is unlisted. A person who identified himself as the student’s father, when reached at home, said he could not talk about the matter and would have no comment. The father is a Democratic state representative in Tennessee. Threat Level is not identifying them by name because authorities have not identified any suspects in the case, and the link to the student so far is tenuous.”

This is unacceptable. I sincerely hope that the investigation of this issue is being handled seriously, and intensely. Out of all the people out there with the knowledge and skill (not that much needed, but still) to accomplish this breach, the person who does it just happens to be the child of a Democratic Party politician?

On another note, I sincerely urge all who read this blog to take seriously their online security. Yahoo mail has been demonstrated to be insecure, other online email services can be exploited as well. Regularly change your passwords. Regularly inspect your email for anything out of the ordinary.

Well, it seems that MSNBC has finally noticed that their point man for the political season is an absolute tool. His blatant disregard for the idea of unbiased journalism has finally cost him.

According to nytimes.com – “Executives at the channel’s parent company, NBC Universal, had high hopes for MSNBC’s coverage of the political conventions. Instead, the coverage frequently descended into on-air squabbles between the anchors, embarrassing some workers at NBC’s news division, and quite possibly alienating viewers.”

He has been an embarassment to even the expected left-leaning network, and its too bad they are not taking him off the air completely.

Unlike politicians, I mean what I say, and I keep my word.

A long while back I wrote an article on FHK about a disgusting film called “Towelhead”. In that article, I said I would never again contribute 1 cent to the coffers of the actor Aaron Eckhart. Well, I have so far been true to my word, but its never been harder than this weekend. You see Aaron “rape a 13 year old” Eckhart is in the cast of The Dark Knight. And unfortunately I am a huge Batman fan. But, a promise is a promise. I will not be seeing The Dark Knight. I wont even bittorrent the illegally recorded version. I will have nothing to do with this film. Nor will probably see the 3rd installment of the franchise because AE’s character is recurring, and will probably be central to the next film.

We can’t drill our way out of the problem?

Something I have heard from Obama, the other Dems, and even some Republicans is that we cannot solve our current energy problem with more drilling. And then I hear “Fancy” Nancy Pelosi -

Ms. Pelosi, a Democrat of California, in a letter to Mr. Bush noted that the Strategic Petroleum Reserve has been used three times before and each time the action has served to stabilize oil markets and lower gas prices. Action is needed ‘to assist consumers and strengthen the economy, Ms. Pelosi said…(Read more Here)

Uhm…OK. We can stablize the oil market and lower gas prices by adding oil from the Strategic Oil Reserve, but not by adding oil from a bunch of new wells? Does anyone else see the illogical hypocisy in this?

Obama votes FOR FISA bill, Kos-Kooks go nuts

For those of you who dont know, the revised FISA bill passed today. This in and of itself is not surprising. What was a bit of a shocker for me is that the Obama-siah voted “Yea” for this bill. And of course, the Nutroots are going berzerk. One of my favorite passages from the Kos:

America passed away today, July 9, 2008.

It had lived to the ripe old age of 232-yrs. Its demise was greeted with loud cheering from the White House and Capitol Hill. None of them will now be going to jail. God bless King George and the next King, Obama and the next and the next… Proud to live next to Canada.

Some days it is actually a joy to read the kooky-ness over at the Kos. I cannot wait to see what happens in Denver if he keeps flip-flopping on those far left promises he made during the primaries.
One commentator I heard today said that Hillary Clinton is set to try and use the fact that she voted against the bill as a way of overthrowing the presumtive nominee at the convention.

Grievance Theater comes to Chicago

Chicago is hosting the latest and greatest in grievance theater drama.

The Palestinian Film Festival, visiting Chicago, is featuring such cultural contributions as “Slingshot Hip Hop” – A new generation slings rhymes instead of rocks as Palestinian rappers form alternative voices of resistance within the Israeli-Palestinian struggle, and “USA vs. Al-Arian” – a close portrait of an Arab-American family facing terrorism charges levelled by the U.S. Government.

I would say its the “Must Miss” festival of the year!

Senator John McCain Visits Savvis Communications

As I posted earlier, my employer, Savvis Communications was chosen as for a visit from Presidential candidate John McCain. I have several differences of opinion with Senator McCain – namely border enforcement, the issue of “torture”, and the issue of energy independence. Fortunately he touched on each of these points.

Senator McCain’s visit today was an opportunity for me to hear him directly, with no editing, no punditry, nothing more than a town hall discussion. One of the things that was asked of me was to give my opinion of the Senator as a person IN person. He was definitely pleasant, and humorous. His speech today, while not rousing like an Obama speech, was strong. He didn’t have me feeling uplifted. He does however seem to understand some of the issues of the near future.
