Now, accesss Ft. Hard Knox on the go! Ron Goodwyne has installed the WordPress Mobile Plugin, to help you keep up to date on daily postings from your mobile phone or PDA.
One note of caution, FHK is not considered a “moblog.” The the majority of our users still enjoy the media-rich content available from a PC or laptop; therefore in order to view some graphics, it may be necessary for our mobile members to adjust their browser settings to suppress images. Check your browser’s help function for more information on how to do this.

Question: Why does this have a Digg button if it is labeled “FHK members only, do not digg”?
There’s nothing “secret” about this feature; in fact, the public should know it’s here. Anybody can read the FHK blog whether they’ve signed up or not, and this includes the mobile web access. It automatically senses the device type you are using, so that you can use the same URL that you would use on your desktop or laptop.
Good question, AJ. The Digg button is part of the post footer on all of the posts. We can either make it part of the post footer, or manually add it to each post we want socially-bookmarked. We were doing it manually for the first few weeks the blog was open, and have decided that this is MUCH better.
No…there is no “secret” about this feature, or anything else we do here at Ft. Hard Knox. The reason we are choosing not to Digg/social-bookmark blog pieces that are basically administrative updates for members and staff of ouf project is that this type of activity really irritates Diggers, and encourages cyber-stalking. We witnessed this happening with blogs such as LGF and HotAir - fans of those sites sometimes Digg items that are thing but “downtime” notices, or simply links to other blogs with no additional commentary, and it simply encourages mass-burying of those particular blogs.
While we know there is a limit to what we can do to stop this behavior on Digg around our blog, we’re doing our best to at least avoid the mistakes we’ve seen made by others in the past.
You’ve made a good point, though, that members need to know about the mobile plug-in on the FHK blog, and they are unlikely to see this post once it’s archived. I’m going to add a note to the side-bar about it. Thanks for the heads-up, and the helpful feedback.
