It’s called the Iraq Moratorium, and it’s scheduled for the third Friday of every month starting this coming September.

According to the organization’s press release, supporters are asked to pledge:

I hereby make a commitment that on Friday, September 21, 2007, and the third Friday of every subsequent month I will break my daily routine and take some action, by myself or with others, to end the War in Iraq.

and

Moratorium activities will range from wearing black armbands to not buying gas; from writing letters to politicians and the media to vigils, rallies and teach-ins; from special religious services to music, art and cultural events; from film showings and lectures to student-initiated alternative classes.

According to the site’s “Who’s on Board” page, the list of supporters of this latest act of dhimmitude reads like a Who’s-Who of the progressive left in the United States. In addition to the Nation Online and the Daily Kos, celebrity endorsers of the movement include Susan Sarandon, Howard Zinn, Bill Fletcher, Cindy Sheehan, Hany Khalil, Even Ensler, Kathy Engel, Danny Glover, James Carroll, Kathleen Chalfont, and Greg Akili, among others. Organizational endorsements come from the United States Labor Against the War (USLAW), Progressive Democrats of America (PDA), VotersForPeace, and others.

Not surprisingly, this “volunteer effort” is soliciting funds which can conveniently be made via Pay Pal, or mailed to an address in Massachusetts. The money is needed, they claim, for “Staff, people who can carry out the work Spanish, a highly skilled coordinator to vet and oversee volunteers able to translate material for a version of this website aimed at the Latino communities which are the most targeted by military recruiters, Stickers, card & Stuff….”

This is just another of many attempts by the progressive liberals in the United States to subvert their own country, undermine the war on terror, and coalesce to the radical Islamists that the United States is fighting on several fronts.

Bin Laden and his minions must getting a good chuckle out of that.
