“The thing about Ron Paul’s candidacy is, it isn’t about Ron Paul. It’s about what he stands for. It’s all about the Constitution.” –Ron Paul Supporter
Ron Paul supporters are everywhere on the web and around the country. Their grassroots campaign claims to have 37,000 volunteers working on the “Revolution”–with evol being LOVE. But what is more important to these supporters–Ron Paul or the Revolution?
A search of Ron Pauls’ official website shows no use of the “Revolution” sign or an endorsement of that sign or movement. In fact, the buttons, bumper stickers, and signs listed on his official site refer to “Ron Paul 2008″ or “Ron Paul: Hope for America.”
A search of the internet shows a different story–the Ron Paul Revolution–which seems to have a separate message. One site “Free For All” claims the “Revolution” sign started as follows:
A group of Ron Paul fans in Arizona started putting up Ron Paul Revolution signs. The signs are showing up across the country, popping up in unlikely places such as at John McCain’s official announcement of his candidacy. The folks behind the Ron Paul Revolution have no official connection to the campaign, and are not getting paid for their efforts. They are liberty-loving Americans who want to help get the word out about the only true peace-and-freedom Presidential candidate.
A series of YouTube videos are available at this site which helps to explain the Revolution sign and movement somewhat. But what exactly is the Revolution? A search shows various viewpoints–liberty, libertarianism, love, Constitution, and more. There is, however, no one organized message on what the Revolution actually is.
Is Ron Paul really the focus of this grassroots campaign or is it the Revolution that is more important?
