Things keep changing at Digg…
…and generally not for the better. Digg always seems to be adding new features, tweaking existing features, and removing old features that people liked. For instance, Digg took away both the user rankings and the data field that, for a time, allowed people to figure out who had buried some of the stories… (We know…that was NOT a feature - that was a BUG!) As far as we are concerned, those examples show how Digg merely tries to cover up problems instead of addressing its users’ biggest complaints - sluggish performance, unresponsive tech support, accusations of bias and lack of transparency, and, of course, the infamous Bury Brigade.

Beautiful version of the classic Christmas song by Andrea Bocelli, from his ‘Sacred Arias’ concert.
THE GREAT TENOR, ANDREA BOCELLI’S CHRISTMAS SONG (just in time for the holidays!)

Comment by ArrrMaltie :
Hi. Actually, I took clips from 5 films. Jesus of Nazareth, The Jesus Film, The Greatest Story Ever Told, The Ten Commandments and The Passion of the Christ. I wanted to put the lyrics in, but did it backwards so they didn’t work. Now I know how to do it right. The lyrics truly are needed for the second verse.

From the site:
Buy the concert on DVD:
http://www.a-cappella.com/product/646/video-performance-pop The original members of Straight No Chaser perform their comedic version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” at the Musical Arts Center, Bloomington, Indiana. December 7th, 1998.
NOTE ABOUT THE DVD: It’s out of stock, but you can pre-order it. HOWEVER, of the 2500 copies we had pressed, over 1600 of those are already sold as pre-orders. That leaves less than 900 copies available for purchase. When those are gone, they’re gone. I’m not pressing more, because I don’t want to have to store them if they don’t sell!

10e20 reviews a company called Killer Startups:
Who are these talented content foragers? Well, it could be you, me or your co-worker in the next desk. It is all member based submissions and reviews.
According to Killer Startups’ “about” page:
KillerStartups.com is a user driven internet startups community. Entrepreneurs, investors, and bloggers are staying informed on up-and-coming internet startups using our blog platform, where internet entrepreneurs submit their startup to see what others think about it.
Our vision:
“Tapping the wisdom of crowds to find the next internet big thing.”
We deeply believe in the power of crowds, and we want to put it to good use by detecting in an early stage what’s going to be big.
History and Development:
After acquisitions such as the ones of MySpace and YouTube, and success stories such as Kayak, PriceGrabber, Facebook and many others, everybody started looking for “the next big thing” on the internet.
A new wave began!
We believe “the next YouTube” is going to be somewhere here, on KillerStartups.com. That’s our goal. We aim to provide you with that info right at the birth of the startup, when it’s only a promise. It will be up to you to detect it and do something with that information. We believe our community will be able to spot “the next YouTube”, and in order to achieve this goal, we are providing what we believe to be the right tools for this kind of discovery.
It doesn’t take a lot to realize that in universities around the world, young entrepreneurs have started talking compulsively about creating “the next big thing”. In New York, San Francisco and the world over, investors are having lunches just talking about it.
Something is clear: entrepreneurs want to hit it big with “the next big thing” and investors want to finance it.
KillerStartups.com aims to help them both by reviewing up-and-coming internet startups right on the spot, right at their birth…(more)

Here we go again…
Having just posted yesterday’s article about censorware vendor WebSense blocking access to Gates of Vienna, I emailed GoV about it to let them know. Seems that, like many of us in the counterjihad, they’d had trouble before with content-filtering firms blacklisting their site, but they couldn’t recall which one.
I didn’t have that information at my fingertips, so while I was waiting for further instructions at work, I thought I’d take a look at the censorship category at Foehammer’s Anvil. There was a good chance that a blog post or comment would identify the censorware firm(s) that had previously bedeviled GoV.
I was startled to find that Websense had blocked me from Foehammer’s Anvil:
Access to this web page is restricted at this time.
The web page you have attempted to access has been deemed inappropriate.
Accessing this material is a violation of [company’s] Computer Usage Policy.
Reason: The Websense category “Games” is filtered.

..from Todd Bensman, Express-News
The second military helicopter in as many days hovered over the jungle and then landed to a most unwelcome reception from several dozen angry Rama Indian and Creole villagers.
Rupert Allen Clear Duncan, a leader of some 400 Creole who live along the shoreline, confronted the foreigners dressed in suits and military uniforms that day in March and demanded to know the purpose of their aerial trespasses.
“This is our land; we have always lived here, and you don’t have our permission to be here,” Duncan spat, when refused the courtesy of an explanation.
Not until Duncan threatened to have his machete-waving followers damage the aircraft did they learn that some of the men were from the Islamic Republic of Iran and had come promising to establish a Central American foothold in the middle of their territory….(more)
