Claiming victimhood, the so-called German “expellees” - Germans living in Poland, then-Czechoslovakia and Hungary at the end of World War II - have once again begun a whinefest, repeating the lie that expulsions were illegal acts perpetrated by vengeful governments upon innocent people.
They very conveniently overlook the inconvenient little fact that the authority for the expulsions from those countries was set forth in the Potsdam Agreement, negotiated between and agreed to by the Allied Powers during the July 17 - August 2, 1945, Potsdam Conference that was conducted in the German city of of the same name.
Polish-German relations turn sour again
The Polish-German relations turn sour after the meeting of the German Union of Expellees attended by the president of the EP [European Parliament, ed.], Hans-Gert Poettering. During the meeting the group’s chief Erika Steinbach said that the dislocation of expellees could not be justified by Hitler’s actions. Many in Poland reacted by accusing the leader of the German Union of Expellees of attempting to revive wartime animosities.
This is not the first time that Erika Steinbach’s statements caused strong reactions in Poland. Head of the German Union of Expellees sparked outrage in this country, for example, by opening an exhibition in Berlin focused on the fate of ethnic Germans expelled from Eastern Europe after the defeat of the Nazi Germany during WWII. The majority of Poles saw casting Germans as victims of World War Two as an attempt to revise history.
I wonder if Frau Steinbach knows David Irving?
Many inhabitants of north-eastern Poland are also concerned that former German owners may reclaim the properties they abandoned after 1945. Small wonder then that when Steinbach called for remembering the sufferings of the millions of German-speakers thrown out of Eastern Europe at the end of World War II Polish experts saw her speech as a failure to take historical context into account. Sociologist professor Zdzislaw Krasnodebski explains.
“On the one hand, we try to play down the historical reasons behind what happened in the past - from the beginning of the war through the national socialism but also that it was an international decision implemented in Poland which was a country subjugated by communism”.
According to estimates, between 13 and 16 million ethnic Germans were expelled after the war, mainly from western Poland and the western Czech Republic. Professor Anna Wolff-Poweska, head of the Western Institute in Poznan and one of the biggest experts in Polish-German relation says that the leader of the German Union of Expellees should not be treated as a partner for dialogue.
“Mrs. Steinbach has proven on many occasions that she is a politician who cares mainly about her own prestige. Hence she presents many spectacular and often anti-Polish but also anti-Czech statements to bring back into the spotlight the subject which may have already been forgotten. However, she is a politician who may be disregarded”.
[….]
Six million Poles, six and one-half million Jews, plus untold numbers of Czechs, Hungarians, Romanians, Russian POWs, Gypsies (Roma, Sinti) and others were murdered by the Nazi forefathers of Steinbach and her gaggle of whiners. And they’re kvetching about being inconvenienced?
Some Poles chose to respond to Frau Steinbach in this manner.

Polish Trustees deny poster slanders German MP
The Polish Trustees on Thursday denied libelling a conservative German member of parliament by showing her posing with a Nazi officer and what appears to be a Teutonic Knight in a poster, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
The Polish Trustees is a group opposed to compensating ethnic Germans who fled or were expelled from Polish territory after the Second World War.
It was created to counter the activities of German organisations called the Union of Expellees and the Prussian Trustees.
The Polish Trustees poster depicts conservative German legislator Erika Steinbach, head the Union of Expellees, standing along side a Second World War Nazi officer and what appears to be a Teutonic Knight.
A quote attributed to Nazi German Dictator Adolf Hitler is also emblazoned on the poster.
The controversial Polish Trustees published the poster to protest celebrations planned this month by German expellees commemorating their homelands prior to the Second World War on what is now Polish territory.
Memo to the Union of Heinie Whiners
There was a war.
Your folks started it.
The Allies finished it.
You’re still losers.
Deal with it.

Heh. The Party of Tolerance, Diversity, Kumbaya and Surrender has been in control of Congress since January. Immediately following the 2006 elections, the likes of Nancy Pelousi, Harriet Reid and Jacques Murtha promised that changes would be made; and indeed thay have.
Karissa Marcum at thehill.com explains:
House selects new food vendor
A new food vendor has been hired to spice up the offerings on the House side.
The arrival of food service company Restaurant Associates will bring a completely unionized staff to the House and a new taste, with the company promising to cook up more choices packed with fresh ingredients.
All of the House’s food service workers will keep their jobs, but the move will bring changes to the Ford House office building.
Restaurant Associates will replace the Middle Eastern food available in Ford with a wider variety of food served by 20 new food service employees.
Rep. Robert Brady, (D-Pa.), chairman of the Committee on House Administration, announced the change in a statement and also unveiled that the company will also provide food service for the Capitol Visitors Center when it opens.
The company plans to take over food service operations in December.
CAIR? CAIR?

The Soviet Russian News and Information Agency has a piece only a Leninist Kosling could love. Conspiracy theories, paranoia, with a generous helping of Bushchimphitler Derangement Syndrome thrown in for good measure and you have a propaganda masterpiece that should be worthy of promoting in the dailyProtocols of the Elders of Koslam.
White House preparing to stage new September 11
A former Reagan official has issued a public warning that the Bush administration is preparing to orchestrate a staged terrorist attack in the United States, transform the country into a dictatorship and launch a war with Iran within a year.
Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, blasted Thursday a new Executive Order, released July 17, allowing the White House to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies and giving the government expanded police powers to exercise control in the country.
Roberts, who spoke on the Thom Hartmann radio program, said: “When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order], there’s no check to it. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule.”
Note: Thom Hartmann’s radio program is broadcast by that Arbitron rating book-busting radio network — Air Amerika.
“The American people don’t really understand the danger that they face,” Roberts said, adding that the so-called neoconservatives intended to use a renewal of the fight against terrorism to rally the American people around the fading Republican Party.
Cool. We have the premise for Kosling Conspiracy Theory No.___.
Old-line Republicans like Roberts have become increasingly disenchanted with the neoconservative politics of the Bush administration, which they see as a betrayal of fundamental conservative values.
According to a July 9-11 survey by Ipsos, an international public opinion research company, President Bush and the Republicans can claim a mere 31 percent approval rating for their handling of the Iraq war and 38 percent for their foreign policy in general, including terrorism.
And what’s the approval rating for the Congress led by the progressive kommissars Nancy Pelousi, Jacques Murtha and Harriet Reid?
“The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists … are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events,” he said. “You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda is not going to do it, it is going to be orchestrated.”
Sweet. Straight out of the Nazi playbook: The Big Lie Theory. Komrades Lenin & Stalin employed similar tactics, as did their successors.
Roberts suggested that in the absence of a massive popular outcry, only the federal bureaucracy and perhaps the military could put constraints on Bush’s current drive for a fully-fledged dictatorship.
“They may have had enough. They may not go along with it,” he said.
The radio interview was a follow-up to Robert’s latest column, in which he warned that “unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the U.S. could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran.”
Roberts, who has been dubbed the “Father of Reaganomics” and has recently gained popularity for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War, regularly contributes articles to Creators Syndicate, an independent distributor of comic strips and syndicated columns for daily newspapers.
What a disappointment! Roberts has these great theories but leaves out how the Jooooos were behind 9/11 and that fire can’t melt steel.
Probably thought that if he included those “facts” with the ones cited above, people would think he’s just another nut.

Leave it to someone in the Kooky Kult of Koslam to take something legitimate and reduce it to Kosling Conspiracy Theory No.___, another example of what passes for civility within the Web’s premier cesspool of progressive group-think.
We all remember Pat Tillman. He had turned down a multi-million dollar offer to play for the St. Louis Rams, choosing instead to accept a $500,000 offer to stay in Arizona and play for the Cardinals.
He became an American hero when he walked away from that contract to answer a higher calling: to serve his country, his response to 9/11.
In announcing Pat’s death in 2004, the world was told that he died during an ambush in Afghanistan. I was one of the millions who watched as Pat’s body was committed to the grave, in full belief that he had given the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield in combat with an evil, maniacal enemy.
At FoxNews.com, Radley Balko reported on November 2, 2005:
We now know that Tillman died in friendly fire, shot accidentally by members of his own platoon. Soldiers interviewed in subsequent investigations have since testified that it was apparent to everyone involved that Tillman died from friendly fire the moment he was taken off the battlefield. A series of serious errors by Army commanders and Tillman’s fellow soldiers — none of them by Tillman himself — led to his unnecessary death. These events were tragic, but they certainly don’t reflect poorly on Tillman, his bravery, or his memory.
It’s also now clear that U.S. Army brass knew early on how Tillman died, but allowed alternative histories to permeate the media and sink in with Tillman’s friends and family for weeks. They even hid the truth from Tillman’s brother, who was in the same platoon, but didn’t witness Tillman’s death. He was immediately flown back to the U.S. with Tillman’s body.
Tillman’s public memorial service, held on May 3, 2004, took place a day after Army Secretary Les Brownlee was officially told of Tillman’s fratricide. There, Tillman was posthumously awarded a Silver Star in which the Army described battlefield events that clearly never happened. It wasn’t until May 28 that the Army told the Tillmans the real circumstances surrounding Pat’s death.
The [Washington] Post reports that investigations documents show this decision was not based on a sudden desire to release the truth, but because many Army Rangers would be returning over Memorial Day, and they could no longer hold fast to the Army’s version of the story.
A subsequent investigation into the cover-up of Tillman’s death found “gross negligence” among commanders of and soldiers in Tillman’s platoon, and called for stern punishments. But here it gets odder: The officer who issued that report was quickly replaced by a higher-ranking officer.
The [San Francisco] Chronicle has since discovered that since the original report was issued, soldiers and commanders were allowed to go back and change their testimony. The subsequent report is more reluctant to place blame, and calls for less severe punishment. More disturbing, the commanding officer who gave an ill-considered order to break up Tillman’s platoon — which the original report determined to be a key mistake leading to his death — was not only given an opportunity to revise his testimony to the first investigator, he was given immunity, and was allowed to disburse punishment to those below him.
One of those punished, Tillman’s platoon leader, had correctly protested the commanding officer’s order. Tillman’s platoon leader, who took shrapnel to the face during the incident, was subsequently dismissed from the Rangers.
[…]
It would have been tough for the military to concede its own ineptitude caused the death of the war on terror’s poster soldier in any setting. But just days after Tillman’s death, the Abu Ghraib scandal broke. The military was in desperate need of some good news. Recycling Tillman’s selfless bravery put torture stories on the backburner for at least a news cycle or two.
What’s tragic is that the military’s duplicity in all of this has buried the better story — what a remarkable man Tillman was. Tillman, we’ve since learned from media interviews with friends, family, and fellow soldiers, was a thinker. He defied easy classification. He was a poet, kept a journal (which vanished after his death), and subscribed to the Economist. He admired Winston Churchill, but was also interested in anti-war academic Noam Chomsky. He read Emerson and Thoreau. He wasn’t religious, but had read the Bible, the Koran, and the book of Mormon. He brought along a portable library of classic novels for his platoon pals to read.
Citing as a primary source a website that’s home to nearly every conspiracy theory you’ve ever heard — and many you haven’t — Kestrel9000, an asshat of the Koslamistan kind, proudly announces:
We have confirmed that Tillman had arranged to meet with a leading anti-war intellectual, Noam Chomsky, upon his return stateside. One can imagine the panic in the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the vision of the much trumpeted poster-boy hero of the War on Terror returning home and speaking out against the evil charade of the War.
Confirmed what? As shown above, FoxNews ran with that information in 2005.
And other aspects of Kosling Conspiracy Theory No.___ are debunked as well. The 2005 FoxNews report concluded with:
Perhaps most interestingly, Tillman opposed the war in Iraq. He’d told platoon mates he thought the war was “illegal,” and a distraction from the war on Al Qaeda, but fought in Iraq anyway, owing to a sense of duty.
We lost a complicated, interesting, fascinating guy 18 months ago, a guy who exhibited the kind of critical thinking that seems to be in short supply among the men who commanded him. They, and we, owe Tillman a lot. Truth and accountability would be a good start.
It would make for an excellent start.
Truth and accountability, the only things the Tillman family has asked for since it was disclosed that Pat died as a result of “friendly fire”. Their many requests have been answered with nothing but stonewalling and a few sacrificial lambs.
Kosling Conspiracy Theory No.___ suggests that Pat Tillman was executed on the orders of either Dick Cheney or Donald Rumsfeld; perhaps both.
I’ll believe that when the Magic Kingdom welcomes Jews as tourists and allows them to tour Mecca and Medina.
There is a conspiracy in play, however. A conscious decision was made to withhold from the Tillman family the confirmation that Pat died in a “friendly fire” incident. How high up the chain of command this initially went — and who chose to perpetuate it –needs to be determined and publicly disclosed. There must also be revealed at what level the decision was made to erect barriers preventing the Tillman family from ascertaining what happened. And we must be told why the stonewalling continues.
I was hopeful that President Bush would address this matter during his weekly radio address today. He didn’t. He talked only of the importance of revising FISA.
Mr. President, we get it, you’re preaching to the freakin’ choir.
Don’t be surprised if some day a staff member reports that Moonbat Nation has a new chant that’s mirrored on their signs:
Tillman Died And George Lied
What credibility you have remaining will further erode each day you fail or refuse to address this despicable and shameful matter.
After all, if a government is willing to lie about how a soldier died, how much trust should the people continue to invest in that same government?
